How are us Catching up with Comps challengers going?

I've made it down to page 34, I'm going do another 4 pages then collapse in a heap at page 30 I reckon
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

I will be honest in that I seem to never find comps, so I just use the competitions endings thread, and thank the people who compile it and the people who list comps on here.:A :T :j

I think that the competions ending threads ARE FABULOUS. :j :T :T I don't know what the arguements are about but PLEASE PLEASE don't get rid of them.   I am sure they have
    a) saved 100's of people loads of time scouring the comps board
    b) ensured that people who would otherwise not have won, have won things.

So please solve the problems don't throw the baby out with the bath water, and all those other cliches.

I restarted last sunday and I had a solid 72 hours with my poorly ds next to me, so had some spare time. I reckon I can do about 20-30 pages a day once kids are asleep.

Once I'm up-to-date, it will be a lot quicker, as I can display by thread started date.

Are you using the snaplink thingy for firefox, that doubled the speed I could comp, and the roboform tip from Toniq, helped again today

Just to let everone know about the comp ending threads.

I was away for most of august, and I have come back to the arguments that have been going on. All the board guides will be discussing it in the next couple of days, and we will then come to a decision about the comp ending thread. I have given computertec permission to post for today only. No other comps ending threads will be allowed until a decision has been made.

I thought the situation was working well, when people followed the rules of posting them how they should of. But they were getting earlier and earlier again.

It will be discussed and the outcome posted on here.

There has been no decision made as yet - please can we have no further discussion on the issue. The board guides are going to be discussing it this week.

    Thanks

This will make it a lot easier to find and lets hope most people put it in this format.

The search facility is so restricted and the daily list do help newbies like myself but once the Thread Title listing has been explained you can get the hang of it.

Thanks to everyone for making my MSE forum experience a friendly one.[/quote]

I wish more 'newer' people were like this!!! :T

How encouraging are you to other new compers, brilliant. Youve made me smile

(That was quoting lmk, sorry, quote didnt work too well) Doh!

I agree. I'm fairly new and totally rely on these daily lists. As an amateur I aspire to be competent enough to be able to produce a comps ending list in the future.

Did you see the sticky from Divadee at the top, now we can all search the forum easier if we stick to usin the same expiry format.

Expiry Date Format - Urgent Please Read 31/08 I have tonight spent about 5 hours going through all the threads to change all the dates to the correct format.

The correct format from now on is E: 01/01 win.... on the main board and E: WEEKLY win etc.. on the regular comps board

The reason why we have done this as if you want to look for competitions in date order you can do this by using the above format and then going to display options at the bottom of the page and selecting sorted by 'Thread Title' and then selecting sort order 'Ascending'

This will help everyone who are catching up with there competitions and want to find a certain date.

If everyone sticks to this, it will make finding competitions by date 100% better for everyone.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)
