Mine came last night.Am setting it up later this eve. but need a bit of advice: can I use the modem (SupraExpress 56ivPro)from my my old computer or should I buy a new one?.Never touched the insides of computers either.

download aquamark, then run it (but close other programs if your running any) and run the test, it will run for 5 minutes or so without sound, then will tell you how fast your system is graphically. It will give you a cpu score, a graphics score and a total score. At a guess the total score could be 45,000 or more

I have a AMD2400XP with 1 gig DDR & ATI 9500 pro and my score is normally 25,000.

supraexpress modems are about the best.( well the 56pro )
They are actually detected by windows, and windows has the drivers.Not many modems i have come across do that.

id just use that modem, the one dell give you wont be much, if any better.

I got a score of 27,798. No where near 45,000. Tried it on my PC at work got 2000! I also had to load a new dll to stop aquamark crashing before giving the result. This dll lives at http://www.forumdeluxx.de/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=13382&d=1124563439

Received mine today. Others have commented on how quiet it is. mine is quiet mostly, but has moments when it is quite noisy. Probably doing some heavy processing task which requires the processor and fan. Is this normal or should I try getting in touch with dell?

Wow, that aquamark score seems low to me, my friend has a Pentium 4 3ghz with 1gig DDR & a ATI 9800pro, and he can get 45,000, I would have thought the DELL would be faster as the graphics card is better.

Wondering if the Dells come preloaded with the latest DirectX & Ati Drivers?

The cpu fan WILL at times spin faster especially when the cpu is under load so yes it is quite normal (My old Dimension 3000 used to do it and my Dimension 5100 still does it so don't worry)
If the fan noise is present all the time then yeah,report it to Dell...

Will the difference not be the ATI 9800pro? I will do another run tomorrow and make sure no other processes are running. Your mate would not be exaggerating would he?

Installed my modem ok. Two problems ,when start it says can't find Drive 2? should I worry?
My printer has no Bus connection/plug.Help please.
