Funny, plenty of games around pre-PCs (does no one remember the Amiga or Atari systems) ?
Anyhoo.. that's crazy money for a PC - considering you could buy the next 7 or 8 top spec PS3, PS4, Wii2 for that kinda dosh0 -
Wow that's some money for a gaming pc. I am currently planning on one myself but for £700

It will be a quiet pc and cpu will be overclocked to 3ghz hopefully
This will be a dual boot pc with xp 32bit and Vista 64bit0 -
Its a good case and keeps noise down
http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/cases/antec-p182/
Plus you need a good psu for overclocking0 -
rancid-a ccl has a forum, you will get very good help from them and it will not cost £2700 was well ,if your going to spend that sort of money on a pcthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

Me thinks too many people confuse need with want
edit: this is coming from someone who could happily put together a PC before Windows XP came along
I've got a colleague who throws thousands into his games PC. Joke of it is; he barely plays it.0 -
consider throwing in several hdd's in a RAID array rather than ssd's,
very cool if u use the raptors,, but need a decent psu .
also all this bollix bout the superiority of consoles is usually from people who don't know how to build/can't afford a decent gaming PC, its like comparing fords to mercedes.click here to achieve nothing!0 -
ps3 to high end gamers pc no consest pc wins every timethere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

I think that spec is a bit of a overkill tbh
Also heard bad things about nforce chip sets so your best getting Intel. I think Nvidia and pulling out of chipsets anyhow0 -
Your having a laff arent you?You can do it for half that , and most of the stuff is just well bling.
No games will use 8 gig of mem for a differnece in speed , your in diminishing returns after 4 , or even 4 cores with 64 bit vista for the next 18 months.Your building a server or cgi machine with that.
you will only need 4 gig , vista 64 for over 4 gig sure but you wont see any big p2pr, and a quad core at 2.4 on the easy overclocker stuff gives the same bang for less buck on air ...more with a decent water cooler setup.
Use about a 1/3 of any gamers build on graphics card of 1gig gddr single card , or cards plural but i think its money wasted on dual cards , though the psu should be 1000w if your sli.Once again theres water cool for vga cards.
A hundered quid for a pro case is ok.
Forget the bluray burner and just get a bluray reader that burns dvds....thers no need for pc gaming with bluray and no need for copying giveing the price of media.
go for a dual hd setup , one VERY fast one of under 300gig , and one large for storage of media.
Lastly monitor get a low refresh rate one with pure black or glass effect and get some 5.1 gaming headphones instead of a full speaker setup.
You should be able to do this for under 1700 , thats a grand saved to buy a ps3 , 360 , wii , psp and nds....or a life;)Have you tried turning it off and on again?0
