  • Just asked Mr.B as he is a Subpostmaster..you can pay in for A+L, if you have your debit card shows on your balance straight away(cash) If you are paying in cheques you have to use the envelopes provided in the Post Office. You can also draw money out as well.

  • umm tricky one which to pay but like hypno I'd get the debt sown - if I have money I think ooo I can shop...much better to pay it off me thinks but if youre disciplined then leave it for a bit!

my decluttering has reached a standstill as well Hypno, we need to put shelves in the fitted wardrobe for everything including craft stuff (it's wasted space as a wardrobe) but need to get freestanding ones first, but can't afford them and need to move all the crafting stuff to get space for them. It's like a great big logic puzzle. If i have homes for things then they get put there, the trouble is i've lived here as a singleton for 6 years and now i have to find space for OH (which i'm not complaining about)

Hi LT ..glad everyone else faces the same dilemmmas regarding decluttering...lol.
My DH has come up with a good idea for us but unfortunately it will cost us but after it's done it will save us money.
We only have a 2 bed house and DH has a load of tools and other accumalted junk ie LPS ,fishing gear etc that he won't get rid off.We have a built in wardrobe thingy and half of it is full of tools...understair cupboard full of tools and LPs etc....shed full of tools etc...got the idea!!!!!
His idea is to get the loft opening made larger, have some ladders and a light get the loft boarded and put all the stuff up there.
He then can get rid of the shed..which has seen better days replace it with a greenhouse and we can grow vegggies in containers so saving moneyas we spend a lot on veg a week.
I'll have loads of space in the house and all will be well.I haven't a clue how much that little lot will cost us..lol

OH has been home last week, and we've ordered a shed* to get rid of his tools (well not get rid, "tidy away") the problem we found with using the loft is the sheer effort of getting in and out of the place (& we are bent double for most of our space too)

Is your new loft hatch going to include a decent ladder?

*My problem now is assembling a shed on my own when it arrives:o .......
  • Hi Taxi, it is just the card which comes with the account.

OOoo Olive is back, wondered where you had been.

Hi all..yes it will include a decent ladder. You have to laugh as DH hardly ever does any DIY...so hardly ever get used!!!!..that's men for you...LOL...We'll definitely get it done but will save up for it so will probably be about this time next year depending on cost.
I need to pay both those CCs off first.
I was in the A+L branch today and I can pay my A+L card in there but not the Virgin one.I'll ask in the PO tomorrow about the Virgin one.
Have been to town with DD this morning and I bought myself a new pair of trousers from M+S only £15 so that wasn't bad as I have to buy large trousers.
DD bought a dress for £30 in Bay and two doors away is Pilot and they had exactly the same dress for £15...so we took the other one back.Pilot had a lot of stuff exactly the same as Bay!!!!...they must use the same suppliers...mmm

    Hi all...
Done my jobs today ...well the ones I can do.Put the washing in,washed pots, been to car wash....had meter altered on taxi.
Had a bit of a shock yesterday from work as the boss has decided to alter the taxi fares.(lower)..He is an astute businessman and knows what he is doing and it will hopefully generate more customers for the firm.If it does that's good news...if it doesn't then so be it.
This recession is going to start to bite and I'm getting a bit worried. We'll never be made redundant so that's a good thing but I don't relish what lies ahead. It's on the tele ,the radio, the papers,magazines....it's all you hear all day. It's so depressing!!!!
We've decided after the holiday in Jan that we're not having anymore until the debt is paid off.We would cancel it but we paid for it last march so no getting out of it now.
We have the tax money covered ..so that's .good.Christmas is covered.I've bought everything (except food)...and a present for DSs girlfriend and DDs boyfriend but I have £30 of Boots vouchers left...so it's covered.I also have £10 of Morrissons vouchers and £9 of Tesco vouchers..so that lot doesn't look bad.
The main worry is whether we will earn enough to keep up with all the bills I guess but will have to cross that bridge when we come to it.Better get off here before this turns into an essay.
