    hi Taxi
just thought i'd check back in after two weeks away. (from the site anyway). Had a wonderful wedding and honey moon, but missed my friends on here. Sorry to hear you've been suffering, but i hope you start getting your sleep routine back. And good luck with clearing your bmi card - with your history i'm sure you'll be able to do it.

Hi Lucielle...I didn't see the Dr at the clinic ..I saw the nurses for the flu jab and had to see them to weigh me as well.
I'm pretty sure that I know why my sleep is so bad now...my DH has stopped me taking the champix (for stopping smoking) as I was getting mega depressed...I also think it is those tablets that are stopping me sleeping and causing some of the aches as AMAZINGLY today I'm hardly aching!!!!....
Whilst getting weighed the nurse (who happened to be my no smoking one) said that they can have these effects in a few people..guess I'm one of the few.
I now have to go back in 6-8 weeks to see him to try something else as he wants this champix completely out of my system.
Good news is that I've lost a kilo since getting weighed the last time at the DRs ..don't know how as have eaten like a pig since not smoking.

Taxi, well done on the bmi card.

I always follow your diary. I had to stop the champix as well about 3 weeks ago. Was exactly the same as you, couldn't sleep and was so depressed I could have just walked out of the house and kept going:eek: Good news was it only took about 2 days and was sleeping again:T

  • Cor, what a dynamo you are being..i never knew that about champix. Hope it works for you and congrats on the weight loss as well.

    Hi Taxi,
Sorry to hear you're having a rotten time, not being able to sleep. I remember what it was like when I was having chemotherapy - I had zero energy to do anything and so I was never tired and could never get to sleep. Seems to be two different things - being tired and having no energy. ?!?!

I suppose you've tried everything but whenever I can't sleep, I always have a nice soothing bath and whilst trying to get to sleep, I play soft music and spray lavender on my pillows. It seems to help if onl in a placebo kind of way.

If I still can't sleep, I don't fight it - I simply get up and watch TV or read a book or even go for a walk.

Sorry if you've tried all this. Just throwing out ideas!
