  • Passed my telephone interview today :j

    I was told the next training will be 9th Nov.. & then 24th Nov 7 i should be ready to take calls from 1st December.

    She was telling me that sales should pour in during the winter months and if you sell a Call 400 package then it's worth 3 sales. i.e £3 :D

    Just waiting for the new dates to be loaded on which she said will be tonight/tomorrow morning.. These will be the last dates untill March as someone said before.

    Well done.

    I am gutted, I have listened back to my voice thingy and think I missed out one of the points on the recording I eventually sent! Stupid me!!!

    The contract I was earning money prior to applying for this has now ended and now I've messed up my chances with this, I have no money coming in!

    They said to try again in a few weeks, but if there is no more training until March then that's not going to be possible.
  • Why can't you just re-register and try again now?
  • Also does anyone know of another service provider other then BT? I really do not want to be paying £125 for another line! I cannot use virgin as i am in a non-cable area...?

    try talk talk or plusnet they do phone lines, plus if you use uswitch they sometimes tell you what services are available. Also you just need to speak to the right person at BT, and play one off against the other, they do want your business so just be very forim with them, tell a sob story about the credit crunch or something
    Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
    They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
    Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    Will they let you use VOIP? That's what we were using prior to getting this landline installed.

    bg will not allow you to use voip at all, so sorry you can't use it

    I have just received the contract for the *free PC though so i will fill it in and fax is across to them tomorrow they say it will be here within 3-5 working days. Anyone else took up the free pc offer?
  • Taffy,

    I have to say 'respect' to you - and hope it works out well with CXC and BG for you! But 'Simon_M' has some seriously VALID points with regard to earnings potential, VAT issues and the like - which are very hard for anyone on this thread to ignore!! Especially if you're aslready doing another job, (P/T in my case!), and are looking at this role to supplement your existing income!

    I had my telephone interview MONTHS ago with BG!!! (Around July 08). Passed that, no problem! Got the invite to training , which I accepted! But couldn't pass this 'stupid' Belarc test!! (I am currently a computer engineer with Apple! I use a Mac - 2.0 Ghz Core2Duo with 3GB RAM, 24 inch monitor; I'm able to dual boot - so I have a Windows partition running a validated copy of Win XP Pro, Service Pack 3 - AND ALTHOUGH MY SYSTEM IS MORE THAN ADEQUATE FOR THIS JOB, IT STILL WON'T PASS!!).

    I got a call from CXC about the 'free computer' thing and £200 bonus but when I replied to their missed call, apparently, I wasn't eligible! ?????

    I have been seriously considering this role as a convenient work from home/second income that hopefully would overtake what I'm doing/earning now - then I would move into it as my permanent position. However, as already mentioned by someone else, it seems that there are 'too many hoops' to pass through, with little reward in sight!

    If someone/anyone could confirm that they were on decent money, 'TAKE HOME PAY', I'm sure all us readers of this thread would 'jump at the chance'!

    But at the moment, NOBODY CAN!! And although you've given us an honest and frank appraisal Taffy of how things are - and that's much appreciated 'again' by the way! - Simon_M's comments regarding VAT and Tax issues have 'pole position'!!

    Ricardo!

    Yes he does have some valid points and i am not dismissing them, but I have some as well and they are below, people are going on about how much you earn from this, now I would like to point out what you save working from home

    Car £100 a month (on finance) = £1200
    Insurance = £400
    Tax = £125
    Petrol £10 a week (x48 weeks) = £480
    Food (cafe or canteen) £10 a week = £480

    total = £2685

    Time to travel back and forth to work is say an hour a day, now if you worked that hour with bgs you could earn £10 a hour

    5hrs x £10 = £ 50 a week = £2400

    So in theory you could be up £5k by saving the money you would have spent going to work, and the hour you travel going back and forth! Plus you don't need a second car and you are also doing your bit for the environment ;)

    And the benefits of working from home is flexibility, you can have a cup of tea by your side, you don't have to ask to go to toilet, you can smoke in work, you got nobody to stab you in the back as soon as look at you, you can take a break when you want to.

    You can make figures do almost anything, the reality is if you were looking at this position you need to make sure its for you, its not for everyone for various reasons, but for the people it is for you can make money with literary very little outlay for a business, it costs virtually nothing if you got a fairly high spec computer already, mine cost less than £300., and it passed, plus running costs that are deductible.

    Okay hope the above gives you a little food for thought
