Cheaper??? Looks more like £99 more expensive than the Thinkpad R50e ;)

The Dell is a better spec'd machine though and worth the extra money if you need the extra performance. :)

it was a better thinkpad than that... centrino processor with more pace and 512mb... did have a lok for that one in sheffield staples though and they were out of stock.

shame because the thinkpad is lighter and has a better reported battery life.

I really can't stress enough how worth it this screen is.

    Look at all the space:

    Open another website alongside!

I put that on just to show how it compares to a normal monitor. Just look at MSE which extends to the edge. When editing in Microsoft Word etc. you can have loads more useful toolbars open without them reducting the workspace.

Plus it looks a million dollars as it is so crisp. :D
  • i have just had another look on the dell website, and for this specific laptop, it says that the 15% discount is valid until 12/10/2005, which has surely passed!?! So, is it infact until the 16th November, which is what is going on with all the other laptops on their site?

You may be right, I've just gone to Dell website and using the code the OP provided it still discounts the laptop when you to the checkout - so grab it while you can!

When I die I want it to be in my sleep, like my Grandad ............ not screaming and shouting like his passengers!!
  • I have just received my order conformation from Dell, it shows all the specifications but on the amount/number of each item it shows 0 (Zero)
Also when you look at the total amount incl delivery and vat it shows £0.00!!!!!

Also I ordered the bluetooth option which has mysteriously disappeared.

Will phone Dell again tomorrow amd query this, hope they honour my order which I placed on the 12th !

This is the 3rd time of ordereing something from Dell and every time they have made errors and its so frustrating when you have to speak to someone in India!!!

    regards
