Already posted, but totally agree on the upgraded screen - WSXGA rules!
  • thanks....ordered one, was going to get a thinkpad r50e which admittedly is prob better build quality, this is cheaper and with much better spec. :D

Did you go for the better screen?

I really can't stress enough how worth it this screen is.

    Look at all the space:

Cheaper??? Looks more like £99 more expensive than the Thinkpad R50e ;)

The Dell is a better spec'd machine though and worth the extra money if you need the extra performance. :)

    1 Mb Cache

    512 Mb RAM

The Centrino is superior in theory, but in actual use is not going to provide any noticeable advantage over the Celeron M. Given the choice of a Centrino and a Celeron at the same price though, choose the Centrino.
  • Gutted - I wanted one of these but the deal is no longer available. I rang dell but they would not give the same price for that spec...

I need a laptop with DVD RW and wireless internet... any recommendations?
