  • I'm afraid it's long gone, Beanie. Dell pulled it yesterday.
    I wouldn't let it bother me though. I'm sure you'll receive as many printers and projectors as I will.

    The fact that one or two of us have received a PDF is a positive sign... lets just hope that Dell's automated ordering service let a few more through before they can be manually cancelled, hopefully enough people ordered this so that this happens....

    I don't think anyone has received a PDF for the printer or projector?

    I definitely received a PDF.

    Maybe its all the people who got an order in before people started phoning Dell up to tell them about it?

    Did you just get a pdf for the printer or the projector?

    I placed my orders (one for a printer, one for a projector) within 1 hour of the original thread being posted (ie Saturday night/early Sunday), and no sign of any PDFs yet. :(

    Steve ;D ;D

  • At 1.30pm yesterday.
    :)

    Anyone else ordered a printer at 1.30pm yesterday? Don't know how Dell system works.

    ::)
  • I ordered my printer at 13:08 Sunday.
    No PDF yet :(

    We used to order equipment for our work place through Dell and get discounts etc for home use. Now Dell seemed to have got better pricing but have harder policies so your guess is as good as mine, if they give away a 1000 pound unit for 20 and sell say 1000 of them realistically that puts them out of pocket at about £1mil.. and 1000 is not much considering there are 60 million people in the UK with 19 million online and a good fraction of them using a common computing site like Dell, the above loss is probably an underestimate/minimum loss they'll make if they did honour orders.

    Ultimately, whether the orders will be processed or not doesn't depend on the law or anything like that but just one thing- christmas spirit ;)

    ...oh and also how many people will get made redundant!
