Many years ago, i had a tv which was not working, and a video recorder. I did not renew my license and was waiting to get a new tv or have mine repaired.
I was visited by these inspectors and as I had nothing to hide I allowed them in, they tried to switch on the tv but could not then they spotted the vcr and said that I was required to have a license.
A week later I received a call from my police station saying that they had summons for me, and he will prefer not to come and handcuff me instead could I come to the police station.
I went there and I was asked to pay some fines otherwise they are instructed to arrest me and and take me to court in the morning. I did pay the fine but was emotionally scarred as I am one of those hard workers who never broke any laws and thought I was a decent person. I am still angry about that and wish I could take some actions against those infidels.

this won't help, the BBC make a lot of programs for other tv companies, ie Granada, sky etc. And they still want your licence fee share of that
If the BBC make programs for someone else do they get paid?
If not Granada are making money from advertisers for something YOU have paid for.
I think the BBC sell the programs, and not give them away.0 -

Even the old pillar of Auntie Beeb, Noel Edmonds is ditching the license fee because of his disgust at Aunties bully boy tactics! 'Its like Auntie has put the boxing gloves on'so says another ordinary mug fighting the 1% who own the political machine grinding them down from on high...

The TV license fee means that every year you have to pay almost twice the price of buying a new television set. If that is justified then everyone who owns a printer for their computer should have to pay twice it's price every year. Printed pages throughout the UK contain vastly more educational and learning materials and content of benefit to society than the BBC spews over the airwaves. How fortuante that governmental friends in high places who need big salaries and posh vehicles and expensive vacations don't purvey ink and toner - lest we should be taxed to pay for their lifestyles and whims.0

So little Noley Edmonds has thrown his toys out of the pram now he's getting a fat pay packet from Sky and conveniently forgetting he had his nose in the TV licence fee trough for 30 years..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

They would have had to prove the VCR was working and tuned in- impossible without a working TV. EVERYONE who gets done ADMITS to the offence. No doubt he asked you did your VCR work and you said yes.0 -
Seems funny to me that the BBC still have ads of around a minute, which promote there own shows. Why could they not sell 2 30second ad spaces to the highest bidder and save us a few tenners a year.0

so he is now sat there waiting for the detector vans to zoom in on him...lol...I find this so funny...

TV Licence is just another tax like any other. If you work you have to pay NI and income tax once you get over the thresholds. If you don't agree with paying NI then don't pay it and in the end you go to gaol.
It's the same with the TV licence. Don't pay it and watch TV anyway. One day the licenciing people will come over. Try saying all that rubbish about the Treason and Fellony Act to the magistrate and see where it gets you!0
