Good morning,
We had our Tesco delivery last night, the worst one we had so far. Quiet a bit of the stuff wasn't available and the invoice is very confusing as well.
Usually, they tell you, what the savings are on at the end, but nothing this time. Also, All it tells, are the promotion savings £.... and then they didn't take it off the total. So guess who I am going to phone today!
Not my week with money - nursery is overcharging too.....I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
Hi, I'd like to join this challenge if possible, i'm going to set the budget at £200. Managed to do my first weekly shop of the month for £37.08. We're trying to cut back on booze and silly things we never eat before it goes off so this will also help. Tink xxDebt to clear: feels endless...
Weight loss to go: 42lb/13.5lb
Maybe someday i'll be skinny, organised and debt free..

ok - i think i might cry.
The day before i went on holiday my dad kindly cut my lawns whilst hubby was at work. Came home at wekend and mum had bought some bits for us so just eaten out of fridge. Went to tescos today and got some freah meat to freeze. Got home and went to freezer in garage only to find that it was switched off and smelt vile. I think 2 and a half weeks ago when dad switched off the lawnmower he also switched off the frezeer!!! Loads of food ruined - 2 whole chickens, 4 packs of mince, 2 packs of chicken breasts, 2 packs of steak, 1 gammon joint, 4 packs of salomon fillelts, scampi, bread, milk, soya mince, quiche, frozen things id made like soup and pasta sauce and pizza bases to name but a few. My carefully planned work gone in the flick of a switch. All the way round tesco i kept saying i dont need that its in the freezer and now its in a bin bag in my wheelie bin.
I definitely would cry! Your poor thing:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Can I just clarify what you are counting as groceries? All food, toiletries, laundry stuff, eating out, cup of tea from Bakers Oven when I'm in town? Just want to get it clear in my head so I'm counting what I should be.
I would have managed with just bread and milk today but had to go and do some shopping for a friend whose house we were going to for lunch so I spent £8.89 today but I am hoping for a NSD tomorrow.
I'm including food, toiletries, cleaning & laundry stuff, food and litter for the cat and rabbits.
I am not including eating out & takeaways etc. That is coming from a different buget.Grocery Challenge - May £20/ £802009 Sealed Pot Challenge #305 - £216 /£3000 -
good morning. it's a lovely sunny day hear but i don't think it will last all day. just about to update my sig, spent £2.34 yesterday on milk and marg, not had to do a shop so far this week because i still have no working kitchen and DS is staying at his dads while the work is been done. the new kitchen is starting to take shape, i should be able to put all the stuff back in the cuppboards later and the cooker, fridge and washer, that are all sat in my lounge while the work is going on. did a bit of looking round on the web for the fridge/frezzer i would like and the best price i have found so far is £255, i might go to a couple retailers and see if they can do it cheaper. i'm so looking forward to having a frezzer, it will make a lot easier, especially once i start uni and i hope it will save me money in the long run.Back on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/1400

Hi All:) Seem to be getting into the challenge. First week shop online came to £53.86( delivered 1/9) plus bought plums at £1.21 from local fruit shop. I made a fab plum and rosemary tray bake for my anniversary. Lovely and lemony was supposed to be with apricots but not in season. Finding web book "How to feed a family a healthy balanced diet etc invaluable. Been mixing and matching receipes/ menus as somethings kids don't like. Thought off ordering main bits online, but buying fruit and veg at local market shop. Did 2nd on line shop last night bit more expensive, came to £65.38. Bought extra cooking ingredients and lot of value stuff no longer available, found cheaper alternatives where I would have bought value (usually tins, toms etc). Anyhoo may have to buy cooking oil and some more cheese. Made HM choc chunk cookies (don't do chips):rotfl:for packs and cheese and courgette scones (instead of crisps). Good luck everyone:DGrocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

Hi everyone,
Recently some people have been finding it difficult to take part in the Grocery Challenge because of the sheer volume of posts. The board guides are looking at this and trying to come up with a solution that will be acceptable to the majority of people who post on the GC.
We are trying to gather as many opinions as possible so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please will you post on this thread: Grocery Challenge Thread Options
