Hi
all
Just 1 question before I toddle off to bed.
I want to bulk cook a chicken curry this week, but have 2 problems.
! dont know how to
2 cant eat hot or mild curry, has to be very mild.
i have asked on cooking thread but just in case no one answers or something, I thought I would ask here.
has someone may be got a very mild recipe, please
thank you so much
Caz
If I were making curry I'd stirfry the meat then add whatever veg you like. Green pepper and onion is good with chicken. Add the curry powder and a tin of tomatoes (I blitz them first).
You can then add any of the following for more flavour:
desicated coconut
mango chutney for sweetness
fresh chopped corriander (this is tasty rather than spicy).
I stir in some natural yoghurt when it is cooked.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Morning all
Turbo...
I just cut the tomatoes into chunks..or leave whole if tiddly -throw into a dish, drizzle with olive oil then sprinkle with rock salt and cracked black pepper and whallop in the oven -usually when something else is in there to save fuel..but about 190 should be fine and leave for about 10-15 mins, so they start to break down -although if you leave them longer the go all sticky n yummy
I have been doing this almost on a daily basis with my tomato glut (and other veggies from the garden)..you can shove allsorts in with them..I have aubergines, peppers, courgettes, chilies, garlic in various batches...I have 20 bags so far which will go to make pasta dishes in autumn/winter ..I have to bag them quick as i would just sit with a spoon otherwise
Well its dull and overcast here...so woohoo for the savoury meat roll I had planned:j ..I have made the pastry and put it to rest in the fridge - I love making pastry, the filling is in the fridge -so later i just need to cobble it together..we have some left over cauli, and i will do peas with it..there is onion, potato n carrot in the roll..so that should be fine ....and more than likely -plenty will be left for tomorrow
Today is my 3rd NSD in a row i think... and im on a mission to use as much as i can from the freezers etc..so hoping for quite a few more NSDs this month..
Im going to have a tootle through some more of my cook books today,,, Im really looking forward to full scale winter meals(sad i know) but savoury suet puds are catching my eye at the moment..and I really want to make some
..stews n casseroles...oohhh winter food... Is it me or do they seem to take much less sorting out than salads n the like?
...
right i had better get off for now..have a good day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I went over major style last month and with DD back at school, me starting a training course next week (lunch only supplied during induction week, then I need to make packed lunches for me, I haven't "worked" outside the house since I was at uni and living at home with my parents) and me having to start knuckling down to my studying even more I have a feeling I'd never stick to £20 a week....:o So I'm going to up it, for now (not too bad as my income is also going up by £15 a week once its been processed through the job centre
), then I'll reduce it again slowly as I get into a routine. So can I be put down for £30 a week please and I'll try to eek out the odd 2 days at the end of the month from the last weeks money as well
I think I'm going to have a look at how much the food I have in (still sealed in packets/boxes etc) comes to, then hopefully I might be able to cost out my meals like in the 50p a day challenge
So as it stands, but its only day 1:o:
GC = £0/£30
TC = £0/£15 (the cost of a weekly bus pass which I should get reimbursed)
Extras = £0Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Hi Kaat honey,
I know there is another delicious recipe around these boards somewhere, and they are both very similar, but this is the one I make.
4 oz. butter
3 oz. sugar
5 oz. SR flour
3 oz. custard powder
1 egg- Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl
- Add the egg and beat
- Finally add the sieved flour and custard powder and mix to a stiff dough.
- Make small balls and put on a greased baking tray, pressing down with a fork to make ridges and flatten the cookies.
- Cook in moderate oven (about 180 degrees) for 12-18 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let them cool on the tray for a while before moving.
