I haven't totalled August's yet but it wasn't good, I reckon I am more than £100 over, so my guesstimate is £415 ish.
However, I am going for £300 again this month but will do it from 1st September to 30th September, instead of confusing things with payday 25th of month. I am going to post more regularly this month too, to "guilt" myself into being better :rotfl:
So can you put me down for £300for 2 adults, 3 boys and the dog.
Goodluck to everyone else, and well done to those who did better than me and achieved their target or better :T
Thanks

I just thought it was home decor stuff but I got some noodles, car mats and some silly little playing type cards with things to do to make work more fun.
I agree, there are a few bits that I go there specially for as they are cheap:
Nicki Quilted loo rolls - 4 for 99p
Cadburys Hightlights Hot Chocolate - 99p
Douve Egberts filter coffee - 99p
Jammy Dodgers - 29 or 39p (DDs favourite!)
Crisps and snacky things like those Rivita bags are as little as 10p.
Cammumof3, Asda do Smartprice tinned kidney beans very cheap. Pop them in a colander and rinse them to wash off the liquid that they are in before you use them. Add some cumin powder as well as chilli powder to make your chilli more tasty. I don't add any herbs but otherwise it would be the same as a bolognaise sauce. Dried kidneys beans are perhaps cheaper but too much hassle IMO. You need to soak them then boil them for so long otherwise they are poisonous.
If you fancy trying other tinned pulses then chickpeas are good added to a curry.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

I will pop in from time to time but I can't keep up with all the posts out there because the line is so slow and we don't have broadband in the back of beyond!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care everyone I shall miss you all.

Hi Guys,
We had a fantastic time in Eurodisney, although we spent far too much money
Unfortunately, we brought home a nasty bug as a souviner so we've all spent the last few days in bed. Luckily we're all better now, but it did kinda spoil dd's birthday. She's 3 today and we had to postpone her party until next saturday. She's been really good about it, butu keeps reminding me I promised to make her a peppa pig cake.
Before I caught the lurgy, I did make it to Mr A. I spent around £80, but will update my sig when I've found the reciept.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Sophie xThanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
Yipee! We're back online. Didn't realise how addicted I had become!
Thank you for your warm welcome and comments - its made me feel very welcome.
Spent £18.94 in Mr T's yesterday, stocked up on weekly food stuff (yogurts, bread) and staples, and also stuff to make a big batch of breakfast bars - lots of oats, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and nuts etc. I wrap each bar in cling film and freeze and just taken one out fresh every day for my brekkie along with a yogurt.
Had a bit of a shock though, bought my usual tub of 'omega 3' seed mix and also a bag of sunflower seeds to put in my brekkie bars, they both last ages and ages, but when I looked at my receipt i saw to my horror that the seed mix was 7 times the cost of the sunflower seeds! Yikes! This is the sort of thing I would never have thought of before, but now i realise is asbolutely bonkers! Especially when the 'seed mix' contains mostly sunflower seeds! Won't make that mistake again!
Am sure I could get seeds and nuts cheaper elsewhere though... Anyone got any good ideas??MSE newbie!:jOctober Grocery Challenge - £120Want to be Mortgage Free - although the numbers are just too darned scary at the moment!:eek:0 -
After a day without MSE I'm suffering from withdrawal:eek:
Went to Mr Ms this morning but only spent £14.14 which was mostly for dog food for the next 2 weeks plus a few bits.
Does anyone shop for meat from on-line butchers? I'm tempted to try as I find getting decent meat a problem. Any help greatly apreciated.
I had an interview for a job yesterday and when I got there I felt really at home. When I got to the end of it they asked when I would be available and I said anytime!! Upshot of that is I start at 8.30 am on Monday :j :j
I'ts redeployment so I have 4 weeks trial but it's doing something that I am really interested in - admin in the part of the council which deals with recycling. Meal planning is going to be a must or I will be falling off the GC in a crumpled heap.
So tomorrow I cook lasagne for Monday and make a few lists:rotfl:
However off to bed now as with MSE being down I have been forced to study my ECDL all day and I'm shattered;)0 -

Thanks that's so good to hear, the cost of mine is also £2k and that's the cheapest option  so altho the adverts look cheaper I don't think they can be that much cheaper, but I have based my choice on other things rather than price so on this occassion I am happy to pay more than I have to  My gut instinct will never be ignored ever again
Back to GC my Mr T delivery came today so will update sig, £47 which I didn't think was too bad as I did have to add a few bits for my curry meal this evening
EDIT - IOIWE, good to see you had a lovely time and look forward to a few piccies, thanks for the sunshine it was appreciatedSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151
