Hope you are all doing well - the end of the month is not too far off! Since Friday have spent £11.80, taking me upto £256 so far. This was on fresh produce so not too bad. Did have a charity day on Saturday (Cancer Research Relay for Life) so did spend a wee bit on that - but all for a good cause so will take that money out of the other account as is wasnt reallly in my grocery allocation! Just going to make a list for the shopping, and use up whatever is in the freezer - looks like I am gong to be just about on target! Really pleased. Heading in to Perth this week so will have a look into Aldi and Lidl - unfortunately we dont have these shops in our town - they are twenty miles away. I noticed that Tesco have the 2litre 'The One' milk on at £1 just now so that is really quite good compared to the rest of the milk available. Have a good week!Every days a School day!0

Congratulations turbo!!
Well I have blown the budget for this month by LOADS. I was doing really well and on track to make budget (just about) until I saw some codes for extra points at MrT. The expiry dates on them meant that I had to use them for this month and it was too good an offer to miss..... I spent just over £100 on food to stock up and will get £80 back in deals. I use them to pay for my car MOT/service and will now have enough to pay for next year's bill in deals so although it feels a bit like a failure on the challenge, it will save me a fortune in the long run.
Will keep the budget at £220 for October please as I like to have a float for stocking up on whoopsies/bargain offers. If I don't see any, I will use the extra money on a thick curtain to cover the archway in my living room and hopefully keep out the draughts!0 -
Does MrA advertise when these 50p deals are going to be or is it every weekend please? My 'chauffeur' has offered to take us on Saturday so I'm hoping to take full advantage
seeing as it's at least an hour's drive in both directions! Therefore, any bargains you regulars spot between now & then, please let me know

Morning all!
Just a quick one..
I am declaring at £161.18 from a budget of £160.
My new month starts on Saturday but I don't need anything until then.
Even though its a smidge over I'm quite pleased as it was my first month buying for two and we had quite a few extras to buy for visitors.
I've decided that all in all we can try to trim the budget down to £150 for a month (2 people, 1 little dog) and still get by OK.
I'm not shopping again until Saturday or Sunday and have already compiled a list of the essentials. I'm only planning for next week as we're both away the following week with work and the shopping will go a bit haywire for a bit.
I'm really finding that meal planning is the key to success as without this I get all carried away in the shops and just buy random stuff.
Just a quick question...
I've made Twinks hobnobs, custard cookies and Millie's cookies (all of which were a resounding succes - I surprised myself!) - Does anyone have any fab recipes for any other easy to make cheap biscuits/cookies/cakes?
Thanks....

We had a cooked roast chicken last week from the M&S deal and the next 2 nights dinners (risotto and curry) were so much faster as chicken already cooked.
Thanks
Nikki-Your XOB-Oh I think Id kill him! Meat? He is obviously overfed and has got fussy. Mine wouldn't dare do that and he's a right ungrateful tyrant! ;+)
Gonna pop in Mt T probably today to get some milk-unless theres a better deal elsewhere I find online before I leave. NSD yeasterday. Lots of UFO's in my freezer in the way of frozen meals. Oh I should label them as soon as I cook them!
Thinking of trying an 8 day week-doing online shopping once every 8 days instead of 7. This works when you want to cut back even if you cannot manage NSDs. Eventually over a 7 week period you gain an extra weeks grocery money(unless you are very down on your luck)So Im planning to book my next delievery for Monday rather than Sunday but I may stretch it longer as Ive still got loads.
** how do you do multiple quotes on one post? Nikki does them and they are so easy to read**
May not do Mr T after all as theres a voucher in the Daily Mail for £3.70 today and if it works I can use it in Waitrose for my milk and a few bits without buying Brides magazine. Fingers crossed.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

I think Nikki might copy the whole post to a word doc then onto her post, or opens two tabs - one to read, and one with her reply on, then you can just cut and paste directly onto that - but you can just highlight/copy the bit you want to quote then paste it into your post, highlight it again and then click on the box above that looks like a little yellow speech bubble and that will make it into a quote - hope that helps...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
