  • Hi,

I wondered if anyone knows about Mastercard in regards to chargeback or refunds?, I have a tesco clubcard Mastercard credit card. I rang Tesco just now and they told me to contact their retail disputes department with all supporting docs in the morning and the woman couldnt give me ANY information - saying I cannot quote anything at this time. Anyone?
  • If you paid with a credit card you should be ok.
Not only will you gwt your money back (eventually) if you rebook new flights and they cost more then you also stand a good chance of getting the difference back.

Difference back from who? Getting married tomorrow, honeymoon in the rockies and hawaii (air canada for that bit). Original flights was 985£ through Amex, BA flights 1500£ booked tonight plus we need to get to Heathrow from Belfast and thats gone through the roof. Not sure my travel insurance is going to cover any of that.

Seems like the airlines are profiting on the back of customers. Been looking all night for the best options and can virtually watch in real time as the same flight went from 1186 to 2741!!!!!!!

not impressed, what a start to a marriage/honeymoon.

p.s I've used zoom before a few times and I was always happy with the service.

120 days from when? From the date of purchase? If that's the case then I'm screwed as we bought the flights in March!

So is the moral never to book more than 120 days in advance with a debit card?

Is it still worth me trying to blag it with the Alliance and Leicester? Are they likely to refund me as a gesture of goodwill?
  • I booked 4 flights with zoom airlines a few weeks ago ready for next year's holiday and have just found out that they have ceased trading. Does anyone know how/if I can claim my £1400? The website has no contact page, Zoom are not answering the phones and the booking confirmation printout does not give advice on how to contact them for information in an event such as this._pale_

From experience of the recent problem with a company selling festival tickets and then going out of business, the banks would not make any exceptions. It looks like you will go into the queue of creditors. Sorry x
    Gone ... or have I?

    What about 'Canadian Affairs' airline.

I have travelled with them and they are fine. Obviously not sure if they are liable to go bust or not but they were great when I travelled with them.

Not on such a big scale, but when EUjet went bust a few years back we were stuck down south and managed to get an Easyjet flight back quite cheaply even though we were flying that day.turned up at the airport to be sent away cos they had gone bust.

We had our money refunded to our card approx 3 months after for the leg of the journey we missed.

At the time there were passengers stranded overseas and Easyjet stepped in and offered to fly them all home for a fee of £20 each.Even though it was July and very busy.

Because we were in the UK we didn't qualify for the £20 offer, iirc, or maybe because we bought tickets quickly and they didn't organise it till the next day, but everyone was brought home and got their money back from their cards.

    HTH

ps can second Canadian Affair - flown to Canada twice from Scotland with them and they are fine, but obviously shop around for the best price.
