This is the standard price for this package, so is not really a 'good deal'. Personally I think the games are a bit naff, and you would be better off buying the Giga pack with no games for £215. Your can pick PSP games up most places for less than £30 and then you get a choice of games.
(The problem might be trying to find one!)0 -

don't even bother with the caraudiocentre. I bought a car stereo from them and they had to repair it around 7 times. Then it wouldn't work for the last time so I sent it back for a refund. They said I couldn't and said why I needed the money so badly and was rude on the phone.
Till this day, I still haven't got my stereo or money backYou'll Never Be Rich Working for Someone Else0 -

Homebrew are games which are played from the memory stick and not the UMD discs.

After reading elsewhere on this thread about HMV selling them today, I went to HMV in Sauchiehall Street but the guy told me that they were not selling the console on its own - only with two games. I didn't bother buying the bundle as I had pre-ordered mine from Gameplay (console only) and was told I would have it on 21st November.
I have just checked my account only to find they have put the delivery date back to 22nd February 2006. As this was meant to be for a birthday present next weekend I panicked and started checking round and it seems the new Giga Pack must have been released all over the place today.
I phoned to find out what was happening and seems Sony have decided not to release the Giga Pack Console on its own until February next year and you can only buy it before christmas with the two games
Argos have (world tour soccer and WRC Rally Games) (can't reserve it in store) : £259.99
Game have loads of different deals all in stock : from £269.99
Woolworths (as mentioned above)
Play.com (World Tour Soccer and Pursuit Force) : £269.99
Blahdvd.com (World Tour Soccer and Pursuit Force): £264.990 -
After seeing Anic's post above I phoned Sendit who I had pre ordered with and they confirm this to be the case also, however they have assured me that Sony has agreed to supply them with enough stand alone Giga packs to fulfill their pre orders although they have been told not to to take any more.
Also the stand alone pack option has gone from their site.
I only hope this is the case and I'm not in for a let down.Herman - MP for all!0 -

When I phoned Gameplay they told me they were in the process of emailing and writing to all their customers who had pre-ordered as Sony would not be supplying any stand alone packs until after Christmas.
I hope you are lucky and do get your console.
As I said earlier, I paniced when I saw my changed deliver date as I needed it for next week so bought a bundle from Game before Gameplay was even open just in case they sold out quickly. When I spoke to Gameplay they happily changed my order and are sending it out this afternoon. So now I have two bundles coming but I don't want to cancel one in case something goes wrong with the other so I'll wait till I have receive them and send one back.0 -

HMV are still telling me that they think they have the console and 1gb pack with no games (and it is still on their website). It is not there yet but the expect them this afternoon.
Let's hope that they do get it as who in their right mind wants World Tour Soccer when Pro Evo is coming out???? Also when games come as standard with packs it swamps the market and the sell-on/trade price goes thrrough the floor - Particulally for a mediocre football game.0 -

After reading in this thread yesterday that someone had pre-ordered the console itself at Canary Wharf's HMV store, I went into HMV in Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow this morning to see if they had any (it opened at 8.00 a.m. today specifically for selling new games and bundles) and the manager told me that they had been told at about 5.00p.m. last night that they were "legally" not allowed to sell the pack without the games. I thought he was either having me on or they only had the complete bundle in his store.
Maybe Sony have released a limited number without the games and only a few places are getting them. Just a pity Gameplay wasn't one of them.
I would much rather have had the console on its own as I had bought the games and films that I wanted elsewhere not expecting to have to fork out another fifty pounds for games I didn't want in the first place.0 -
