Hi all

BB - you'd want the job? Cruella is no longer there, yes? Sorry, been skim-reading between meals and baths and washing  If you are interested, then get in there!
Bun - was your hair appointment today??? I'm getting mine done tomorrow, not sure what to do! Got to look good though for BackToWork...

Well, I have a very wobbly dog, but she's home.
We had a bit of a scare when we got her home because the wound had been bleeding in the car, and there was lots of blood. DH checked her over, and it looks like the would had been rubbing against the car on the journey. We cleaned it and it looks fine now.
Saying that, the cut is 2 - 3 inches, with around 30 staples in. No bandage/plaster or lampshade. I'm not sure how we are going to manage that, but we'll see
Thanks so much for all your good wishes, you really helped me today. I love you all

Daphne (seems weird calling you Daphne when I know your real name!) - Cruella is still with the organisation but the job wouldn't be in that department. I think the only contact we'd have would be passing each other around the building and it's a large site so we may not even do that very often. The job would be based in an 'outbuilding' next to the building she worked in when I was there, but apparently she might have moved into the main building since I left, in which case the chances of bumping into her are small. I doubt we'd even go to the same meetings.
The job would be much more 'contained' than my last one which was lots of contact with every department (I was the PR Manager and Webmaster) and it would be working with people who are doing clinical trial projects - a much smaller network of staff.
It would certainly raise a few eyebrows to go back - from those who knew the situation it would be -oh my god, good to see you back, to her couple of sidekicks who would possibly go a bit pale at seeing me back!!!
I just don't know. I love where I am so much, and I feel there is lots of scope for me to get a fab career there, but it's going to be at least a year if it happens at all - and I don't know how much longer I can last on £7.35 an hour 18.5 hours a week and then as many 30pences as I can muster on AQA before I go mad for the rest of the week (and weekend and Bank Holidays!!) . I may have no debt now but I still have a mortgage etc!!!
Spud - glad your boy is ok. Lots a lovin' and a few extra treats and he'll be right as rain

The 'official' outcome of the grievance on my personnel record (I was sent a copy of a kind of 'false' letter which was put on my file )is not the actual outcome - let's just say lots of sweeping under the carpet with a big cheque attached but anyone who ever sees my file would think that all my claims were unsubstantiated.
aaaaargggggghhhhhhhh...........
Even if the claims were *actually* unsubstatiated, you couldn't be discriminated against for making them. The various whistle-blowing rules come into play there.
Your "agreement" will have details of what they've agreed to do - any deviation from those would give rise to a "breach of contract" liability on their part. HR may wish that she employ someone else, but can't discriminate against you alone - you prospective boss would need to agree. It would be difficult to impress that on your prospective boss, as I'm sure that would breach another part of your agreement - the "give a good reference" part.
In short, it might be worth doing, just to see HR squirm..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

What about that stuff that stops you biting your nails? Thanks so much for all your good wishes, you really helped me today. I love you all

well, my prospective boss didn't know the ins and outs other than she knew I was been treated badly, but her boss is the one who thinks I should apply. She knew everything that happened as she was only a few doors away and is a lovely person and wrote a witness statement as part of my grievance.
I've sent an email to my old (nice) boss and asked her honest opinion - as someone who knows me (and what happened) and also knows the politics of the organisation. She's at Director level now, so will be able to shed light on how me coming back might be received.
Quite a lot of people knew what was happening as it was taking place (which made it even worse in a way that it went on for so long with such 'final' consequences for me) so her treatment of me at the time is quite common knowledge. Only a tiny handful know what happened after I left and they would also know they have to keep quiet.
God, Cruella's face would be a picture to see me wandering around.........:rotfl:
