Fav post in a while
After a fw incidents as a teenager (usualy involving cheap cider) I found that deoderant doesn't work. I wasted 2 ful cans of lynx over the course of a weekend to find that out.
Since then I've always just used hair shampoo. Pour on (quite liberally) then rub in with a damp cloth. Wash cloth and repeat until smell goes.
It should be noted this was a really old carpet, so I can't comment on whether it would work on a modern carpet0 -
Lovely issue....little one puked all over carpet on sunday night, and despite scrubbing it several times the smell wont go! any ideas?0

let the area dry completely then get a tub of bicarbonate of soda and sprinkle thickly over the area. if you know the vomit penetrated deeply then gently work it into the carpet with a soft brush or your hand. leave overnight and vacuum well the next day until you are sure all the bicarb has been vacuumed up.
this should deal with the smell, but if not repeat the process. or you could buy pet deodoriser (the powder one) and do the same thing. this costs at least 5 times more than the bicarb though!0 -
I use a dettol and water solution and a scrubbing brush when my littluns 'decorate' the carpet, followed by a good hoover.0

Thanks both, I think so far I have used anti bac star drops, flash with febrezze lol, washing powder and fairy liquid!!! My biggest worry is that when dad initially cleaned it up he's pushed it further into the carpet lol men!
I shall dig out the bicarb and scrub it in with my cleaning brush, she managed to splater right by 'my' sofa so i cant even escape the smell! Kids!0 -
