Use biological washing powder for any body fluids, wee, poo, sick, ect.0

I would make up a foamy wash - a little handhot water with a little soap flakes or laundry soap, swish to make a foam and use the foam to 'shampoo' the stain. Always work in towards the centre. Then give it a good dabbing with Dettol - it's the only thing I've found that gets rid of the smell of puke!0

Sorry - that read 'FROM my leather settee', definitely not 'of'..typing quickly with child on knee as usual.
It wasn't even an exciting beer fuelled party (been years since we managed to have one of those!)..
My nearly 3 year old was very sick over all of the settee. To the extent we were wading in it slightly. Sorry if tmi but it was bile and I have a feeling this smells even worse.
I washed it in cold water & washing up liquid immediately thinking it'd caught it, but then the smell started. I have since covered the entire thing in a whole box of Dripak bicarb and left a cover on it so it would hopefully it would absorb the smell, but it rather worryingly hasn't!!!
It's an old-ish red/oxblood leather one and I'm a bit worried about using anything too strong incase the colour comes out.
If anyone could help I'd be really grateful - our room isn't much bigger than the settee and so the smell is pretty bad
Thanks in advance, lots!

Why not sponge it with a bicarb solution? That usually works on furnishings & carpet.0

Hi thanks for that! I have a little bit of bicarb left so I'll give it a go. How much bicarb to water would you recommend please?
Thanks, Luce0 -
This might sound weird but whenever I use just soapy water (not sure whether I'm supposed to or not on leather) on our leather suite, it makes a sicky smell come from the leather. However, when I use baby wipes to clean it, it's fine - perhaps the sicky smell is actually the leather?0

You could try weeing on it. Then you only have to get rid of the smell of wee.0

Can you remove the smell of sick from a carpet?
A friends child was poorly over the weekend and has been sick on the bedroom carpet. Its been cleaned up and I leant her my carpet steamer. The carpets clean but there is still a faint but distinct odour.
Do you had any ideas on how to remove the smell completely?

When my son decided to provide a nice large stain for my carpet I scrubbed it and made a paste of bicarb and spread it over the carpet. I left it til this dried and smell vanished.
Perhaps not enough bicarb was used? I normally find it excellent for absorbing odours.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
