One of the easiest excercise routines i did was just sitting in a chair. It's kindof like self-hypnosis, but not.
Sit in a hard backed chair and close your eyes.
Picture yourself lying down on the floor.
When you are totally relaxed, watch yourself do 100 situps and count them to yourself as you do them
Once finished, get up and walk around for a few minutes
Next, back in the chair and same again - different excercise
You are lying with your back against a wall (propped at about 45°)
Imagine you are slowly raising your knees up to your chest, then slowly lower again.
These excercises are actually pretty hard for me - my mind seems to wander:rotfl:
It seems that although you are not doing the excercises, when you visualise it, your body still contracts some of the muscles that would be used doing the excercise and you can feel some tightness once you are finished. I'll have to try doing that again on the train in the mornings instead of falling asleep. Just hope i don't kick anyone while i do it :jAfter falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

That's really interesting George, I do something similar where I lie in bed and imagine myself doing exercises (ones I was once told by a physiotherapist to do lying down - lifting my knees to my chest and moving my legs about), and I find myself feeling quite tired. I thought it was all in my mind, didn't realise I might be doing any good! My health trainer has also suggested sitting in a chair and 'dancing' about, so I do that in the car when I'm waiting to pick people up, or when a song I like comes on tv. And it's what I do at gigs, since I'm sitting in the disabled area and it feels like I'm getting more involved.
It's funny really how much 'normal' stuff counts as exercise when you actually think about it.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
I didn't really get much done today.
Found a site called grooveshark - i was finding music i could excercise to. Yeah, that's it.
I've eaten tonnes of junk today and lost 2 lbs.
I'll put that down to the 10 situps and hours of chair-dancing
(Nothing to do with dodgy scales)
Right, going to start getting to bed at a reasonable time and excercise every day, even if it's just a little bit.
I think this is the final month that i can have on LTSB so will hopefully get an offer through from one of the other cards - if not i'll need to cal them about the 20th.

I have images in my head now- fatal reading this at 1am in the morning. I will be a good girl and resist the temptation though.
I did see in the paper though that in wartime they used 5 excercises to keep the airmen fit- someone followed the regime and it worked. May be worth a google and less painfull on the shins than chair dancing. Imagine if you had a chair with two left feet:p:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Made what i believe is my last 0% payment to LTSB today so will need to see if i can get a trasnfer in about 2 weeks.
Debt reducing, no gambling, no excercise, no nuffink.
Just can't get motivated (lazy). After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Tell me about it, my motivation's gone too. I just realised that it's September and I wanted to get the first full draft of my book finished through the summer before my OU course starts again next month. I'd better get cracking lol!
How about starting small? Park a bit further away, or choose one set of steps instead of the lift, or walk a longer way to get somewhere you often go? It should be easy to fit something like that into a daily routine.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Oh come on George, you have to be perkier than that, No gambling in itself is fantastic and the debt is going down. These are good things.
Everything else will come together when you are ready.

Nope still can't find perky.
For the past week my neck's been killing me - don't know if i've put something out of pulled a muscle in my shoulder. At least i can move my head now - at the start of the week that was a major feat to do. Been doing more 'chair dancing' so i think that's helpd loosen it up a little. Excercise has not been on the cards this month - being able to walk was an achievement at times.
Will need to try to get a new card deal next week. Not had anything through from RBS or BOS with a BT offer so i may need to phone them. Was hoping on a BT cheque from BOS as their promotional stuff is usually quite good.
Just going through the playlist on grooveshark - i really hope people can't tell about someone's personality by the type of music they enfoy. Strange is probably the kindest thing that could be said.
Hope everyone's doing okay and enjoying the weekend. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

What on earth did you do to yourself?
did you go to the Docs (why do I feel that might be a silly question?)
focus on the Good (((George))))

Hope your neck starts getting better soon, it sounds nasty. Glad the chair dancing's helping, maybe we could start a new trend?!
It's funny what you say about your playlist, I was thinking that about my ipod, how eclectic it is - I'm possibly the only person in the world who has All Saints and Pantera!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
