crisis loan application-anyone else made to feel like scum

Rob,
I'm really pleased you have got this sorted out. There is no way in this day and age that anyone should be put through what you have.
And in answer to your original question - Yes I have been treated badly when I enquired about a Crisis Loan. I rang them last year to ask for some help. When I told them that my partner worked, they laughed at me and told me that Crisis Loans were not for people in work and ended the call. Turns out that this is complete nonsese and ANYONE can apply. I was pretty desperate at the time and I should have been allowed to at least apply. Shame I didn't know that at the time! Anyway rant over!!!
All the best - Really pleased it's been sorted. Lets hope that money goes in today...

Really pleased to hear that you have the money going in today. As for the housing people they have a statutory duty to PREVENT homelessness, its in their own code of guidance. The duty lies with the council so get on the phone to them and ask them for assistance, they have the ability to move mountains if they want to. If that fails then contact Shelter who will fight your case for you their number is 0808 8004444 which is their helpline, they will refer you to one of their offices or associates.
Have you had a section 21 notice served on all of you? As the LL was aware you had all been living there all of you have to be served with an eviction notice. The lead tenant cannot just leave and say that you are all leaving.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
they dont the lead tenant leaves hands in notice thus terminanting contract meaning that we all are deemed to be leaveing
we have recieved written notice but of only one month im not sure if its section 21
we are gonna fight it i have researched a lot on the dps and this and we are writing to him to get him to reconsider keeping us on as tenants and getting the exisiting deposit transfered over (something i now know can be done) and we are also going to stay as long as possible im prepared to pay rent whilst we are here. if he takes us to court to evict us we will fight him and drag it out as long as possible

Result ! Good for you. Don't forget to pay your net bill, if the funds allow, we've still got to get the tenancy sorted out yet. There's plenty folks here with the know how to help you with that too, point you in the right direction kinda thing.
You were very fortunate Rob, to be part of the MSE gang & to have a huge number of online friends who'll go the extra mile for ya. But how many folks just don't have that advantage & disappear through the social security safety net every day ? It's really quite troubling & just shouldn't be happening in this day & age.
Keep us up to date with how you're getting on with the tenancy. And you both have an easier time of it.0 -

Great news :j you should be very proud of yourself because i know we are so proud of you .
You must feel so tired you show your landlord you will not back down
Our landlord is a pain we have lived in our home 12 yrs and my 80 yrs old mum broke her hip and other bones we were going to get a stair lift but they said no because its a big job then they said yes if you change your tenancy from long term to short term  I said noway because if we go to short term you can end it.
So please make sure you get a long term tenancy
Take care you are FAB0
