no it was a joint tenancy betwen two people they were struggling to pay rent one of them is a friend of mine, we moved down letting agent knew about it and helped them out the original plan was all 4 of us were going to live together untill end of tenancy at which point we would sign up togther.

the lead tenant basically shafted everyone by coming up with excuses as to why he could not afford rent so me an matty paid everything for 3 months.

he then decided to give official notice thus meaning the letting agent has give everyone else 1 months notice from the day lead tenant gave noticr till the 19th of september to leave the property .

the deposit was paid between the two people originall my friend and the lead tenant howvere he has made out to letting agent how it was all my friends fault etc and he paid everything up front so the letting agent has agreed to give the deposit back to him only and as he is the lead tenant with the dps then my friend cannot claim anything unless we go thorugh courts but they dont have the money .

Hi there. Good to see you hanging on in there and getting great advice. It may cost your landlord but you don't need money to go to court so tell him/the letting agent that is what you are doing then hotfoot it to CAB who can help. With pressure from them your landlord is more likely to be co-operative.

Previous advice on benefits says it all but fighting on your own is pretty soul destroying so again use CAB first thing tomorrow to apply pressure and make an appointment at the jobcentre with their help to get an emergency payment.

    Good luck to you both

    Hi Rob

Am really sorry to hear you struggling like this, when you said you didn't have any food I felt so bad.

Could your partner try for a crisis loan? He is already on benefits isn't he? I don't know how it works but there was a guy on here called John who managed to sort things out swiftly with the benefits people.

I hope you get everything sorted before Friday because the benefits will be closed by then and I am glad your MRI scan has been moved forward.

I can't believe they can treat people like this - and as for saying 'good luck'.. she obviously doesn't have to worry about feeding herself tonight.
