  • Right. Next port of call is the DWP Out Of Hours Service. Call the council Social Services Dept duty social worker after 18.00 hrs, tell them you applied for a Crisis Loan this morning & that by COB it still hadn't been decided & ask them to immediately contact the DWP Out Of Hours officer in your area. He/she should be able to give you some ££ for tonight, if nothing else.

Bloody DWP bend over backwards when it comes to Treasury led staff cuts, but they just don't realise how it affects real punters who need help.

Tomorrow, you should go into your local jobcentre and make one of their staff speak to the crisis loans team. They can usually push things through quicker rather than a normal person off the street.

I feel so sorry for you, if your in the North-East you can always come to mine and I'll feed you :)

Zappster1966 - can I just say it never ceases to amaze me how total strangers on this forum will take the time and trouble to give advise and help to people that they've never met,Its Truly heart warming .

    Thank you

well just had a call im being rejected because the incapacity benefit people should have paid me !! she says they should make an emrgency payment as zappester did only thing is when i spoke to the incapacity benefit people at 16:46 they told me they do not provide emergency payments till a descion has been made so basic jist is im being penalised because of the dwp's lack of ability to process a claim on time !!!!!!!

I think you need to get in touch with CAB and see if their clout will help speed things along and sort things out for you. Probably not much good for tonight though but get onto them 1st thing in the morning.

Do as Zappster says and get in touch with the out of hours service.

I don't know what else to suggest but couldn't just read and run.

Rob Go on the internet to shelters site and you will find landlord cant chuck you out that easily. Im not going to go through various tenancy's for you but to cut a long story short a court will assume that the correct tenancy was in place even though there was nothing in writing and the landlord will have to follow the correct procedure. if he doesnt when you go to court claim harassment.

well im using my last tin of baked beans and some flour and water and i have made a pasty for the two of us !
thanks everyone for your help it is appreciated

    i am so annoyed

abosolut bounder the ll can chuck us out the government screwed us their as well
as qouted of the local councils website

If you are a joint tenant the whole tenancy will end if you or another joint tenant ends it. We will then decide whether to create a new tenancy for the remaining tenant or offer them another property. You may not have an automatic right to continue living in the property if a fellow joint tenant decides to end the tenancy or dies (see Succeeding to a tenancy when someone dies). Online version of form (will open in new window)

But in law were you joint tenants if you were not on the tenancy agreement. If it was a joint tenancy then you should own a proportion of the deposit.
So is it a council tenancy? or was it sub let by the tenant. If so was he in breach of his tenancy agreement.
