adoptee found birth mother & sibling (merged with po box who owns it?)

hi i hope this is the right place to post. i beleive i have found my birth mother, i have written twice asking for family information as in tracing family tree but only given my mobile number.

However i have heard nothing, so i would like to use a po box as im not ready to give her my address yet.... my question is, if someone asked the post office who was renting that box do they tell them?

any ideas? ive got her address, but darent give her mine.... coward eh? i cant really afford all those adoption sites...

Hardly a coward!!

Can you not ask a friend if you can use their address and send a letter, better than a phone call i think at least she will be able to read over the letter several times rather than give a knee jerk reaction.

as above you would be better possibly to send a letter with a phone number instead of your address , or ask a third party to intervene on your behalf eg,friend or partner or even other family member.

I suppose you are prepared for the fact that maybe your bm just doesn't want to make contact? I hope it works out well for you in the end.

i dont want to put a downer on things for you - but have you seriously thought about what you will go through should she reject your contact? - it is a real possibility that she could do that for whatever reason, and i would hate for you to go through that after you have worked hard to find her

What makes you think she'll be any more likely to reply to a PO Box than a Mobile Number?

Sorry if this is a silly question loopy_lass when you contacted her did you tell her who you were, or just say you were researching a family tree?

perhaps she's scared to call you.

Her emotions must be all over the place atm, old wounds have been opened.

I'm sure she wants to know you, but she's probably had a very big shock, her hubby may not know about you, you could be a big secret (a nice one I'm sure).

Time will tell, but good luck the PO box sounds like a good idea.
