Opinions are fine, I have plenty but at least answer the OP's question first
Forum EtiquettePls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
All the best

It was answered.
Believe me I have many opinions on this particular query that I am keeping to myself. And I think you will find I was courteous0 -

This is where the plot thickens cos at the time neighbour decided to do it, he was at loggerheads with his ex, and said he wasn't paying cash to her it could go in their daughters accounts. Fast forward a few years when CSA say he has to pay money again and he now claims he was verbally told by the CSA he could do this, who now hav no record of it. Considering the CSA's reputation you would think it would have been asked for in writing before going ahead - if the 2nd version is true of course.
Ah tricky one......as far as I know they have never allowed that rule so as you say he should have got it in writing (hindsight is a wonderful thing eh?!!)
but then he could just be bum fluffing to get out of it...who knows...but he has learnt an expensive lesson :eek:0 -
My friend's ex is constantly going on about how she doesn't spend the CSA money on her daughter...
She has to pay high rent to live in an expensive part of the country so her daughter can finish school without interuption, with no help from her family who are in a different part of the country. She is a straight A student and her mum feels that she cannot move her right in the middle of her GCSE years. Meanwhile he has disappeared off the face of the earth, has failed to keep to the contact arrangements, and sees his daughter once a month for a hour or so if she is lucky, He doesn't even make the practical contributions of having her overnight once a week as agreed. Yet he still feels he can criticise the way she is bringing their daughter up, and how she spends the CSA money.
CSA is for ALL the child's expenses, including keeping a roof over their heads, food on the table, school trips, birthdays, christmases, etc etc etc. not just the visible ones such as clothes.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
