    Hi all

Another query - can anybody recommend any companies that replace kitchen doors/worktops, or somebody who could do the work if I bought the stuff? I've recently moved into this house, and the kitchen is basically sound, but the style is terribly dated, plus the doors & worktops are very dark and the kitchen doesn't get much light. I thought it would be cheaper and easier just to replace them rather than the whole lot.

    TIA

i think itd probably be best if you either:
    1) measure up the door sizes and buy replacements (from b&q, ikea, etc.) the old ones should be of standard size and its just a case of uscrewing the old ones off their hinges and putting the new ones on nice n level ofcourse. might also be worth buying new hinges if the old ones r rubbish!
    2) buy a new kitchen! (ikea do great ones for relatively very little money)

if you payed some1 to replace the doors or fit new ones theyd prob charge u a fair bit. on the other hand, if you did do a new kitchen then theres the fitting price to consider. always helps if you are good at DIY in situations like this! :A

    good luck...

We've recently had a new kitchen fitted but had thought about replacing doors and worktops. If the kitchen is basically OK with the uits in the place you want them then I'd say fitting the new doors yourself should be OK if you are a reasonably competent diy-er BUT I would recommended you get the worktops fitted professionally - they finish off the kitchen and it means you don't have to put up with those ugly joining strips.

    Hi

Not too sure if they would go to Derry/Donegal but I got a kitchen in Sept, made to measure and fitted perfectly in 1 day, it was in and around the 3.5k mark, the guy was from Dugannon and I wouldnt know if he travels far but he has worked in the south before so I'd assume so, if you would like his number pm me and I'll send it, it's his home number so I wouldnt like to post it here.

I am really pleased with the finish and couldnt fault his work at anytime

I bought a kitchen from MFI in June and got my dad (whos a Joiner) to fit it for me. Has been great so far and was pretty reasonably priced (£1100 with oven, hob and fan and all the extras).

All the parts came in the one delivery and it was pretty easy to install.
