I know exactly how you feel dalip
I also know EXACTLY how much I owe (nothing), what I own outright, what the wife owes (£1200 - all hers an under control) and who wants paying - and we have the money to pay all now.
not many in "the security of a house" can claim all that0 -
Sorry had to nip and pick son up from school, he has sore eyes, argggghhh
I agree with what you are all saying, daft I know but I havent got a clue about getting a council house, keep hearing about bidding etc, typed it in google but nothing really comes up.
speak to your local authority housing department (council) who will take an application and request info. if your under threat of eviction thats actually a good thing! if your bankrupt they cannot claim you have made yourself homeless to sidestep housing you.
use the system, thats what it is there for, be ready to involve the CAB and/or "Shelter" too, councils havent much stock but can refer you to the HA's they deal with who WILL build because their tenants have no right to buy.
the new "bidding" systems just mean you have to keep an eye on the websites or local papers, you request a login/password to bid online0 -
So if we do it and move out into the rented (private) (hand keys back)then get chased for any shortfall(once it sells), make ourselves br then apply for council will this not be seen as we have made ourselves intentionally homeless?
thanks again everyone0 -

if your in a private let you will not be a priority case for the LA, BR/shortfalls wont go against you, though if your in a PL at least you can decide NOT to accept any council/HA property you dont fancy
swings/roundabouts0
