Thanks Skint, I'm sure it must be helping a little bit but would love to be rid of it once and for all!
I have no idea how much it costs, I'll see what the pharmasist says and whether its worth seeing the doctor, its a nightmare to get an appointment as it is!
Thanks for the good luck - I'll need it! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Dear Penguin
I too am struggling with the smoking. Don't enjoy it, but still keep at it. Really don't know where I find the money from.
Sending you smoke free positive thoughts.DC.

Thank you DC - I always thought that the motivation to the difference it would make to my debt free date would spur me on but I need to change my mindset from cant quit to can quit!
Didn't make it to the chemist today as work was too busy but I am off now for 4 days so will call in after dropping DD at school in the morning - she has a school trip tomorrow and is very excited, bless her!
Another 240.00 off the debt today and if my maths is right I should be able to pay off one of the HSBC debts this month (currently 258.00) want to wait until all the direct debits have gone out though (around the 8th) just to check I havent forgotton something vital - will be nice to get rid of that as its one of mine!
After that the plan is CSL (or something like that) with a balance of 2230.00 as they offered me a reduced settlement of 500.00 over 4 months when the balance was over 3000.00 which I just couldnt afford at the time so I am hoping that they will settle for 300.00 a month over 4 months - might give them a ring now and see (will get an agreement in writing before I commit)
Hope everyone is well, cant wait for my break from work, all boring stuff planned (housework, studying etc) but at least it will be what I want to do for a change! xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hi Penguin
Just caught up.....my goodness you hve been a busy busy bee! Well done on the weight loss, the OU course, the 101 in 1001, the debt-busting..you are an amazing woman....:T:T:T:T
As for the quitting smoking...two suggestions that may help.....the new Champix from your GP and Natural liquorice root from Health Food store (like Holland and Barrett). The former stops the cravings and the latter, while giving you something to keep your fingers and mouth occupied (;)) will also ensure the digestion "keep moving"...a common problem for quitters...I've not tried the former....but the latter was a godsend:D:rotfl:.
Piggies here are all keeping their paws crossed for your next assigment......and hope their Aunty will successfully kick the weed into oblivion......
Hugs to you my dear

Hi penguin,
Just wanted to offer my support for giving up smoking. Still the hardest thing I ever did.
You can do it, I have faith in you. There are so many quitting smoking aids available, hopefully you can find one that works for you.
Best of luck!!Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Good luck with the quitting Penguin and well done on the cc repayments:j0

Evening all, very wet and windy up here tonight.
Wol - thank you for your kind words and encouragement, I'll def make an appt with the GP, I think Taxi used the Champix to help her to quit. Thanks for the well dones too but I am definitely not amazing, just stumble from one day to the next as well as I can :rotfl:
Talisker and KP - thank you for your support too, it is much appreciated, I honestly never thought it would be so hard to do!
Ok so quick update
Debt - 31084.51 as of today, just over 1k to be sub 30k so fingers crossed will be there by the end of July at the very latest, still working on the 258.00 HSBC debt have about 150.00 to pay off it next week and then will pay the 108.00 on the 30th June and be rid of it before July :j then its on to BarclayLoan currently 2230.00 aim to clear that in 3 months starting July so by the end of Sept hopefully.
Weight - lost 1lb this week at weigh in so total weight loss now 3st 4lbs but I went on a bit of a binge on Weds and Thurs while I was off work weighed myself Friday morning and was shocked how much damage it has done, have been 100% since Friday morning in the hope that I can STS by Weds morning weigh in.
Kids - all well, not long till DD breaks up for summer so have to figure out childcare for then between me, OH, mum and dad and holiday club, will also have to work out budget to include holiday club, at 38.00 a day I hoping I wont have to use them too much. DS appointments all due over the next few weeks so that his reports for the statement can be written, cant see it all being sorted in time for school starting in September though.
OU - latest assignment back and scored 70% so pleased with that assignment number 5 due in on 26 June so need to get cracking with that in the next few days.
101 in 1001 - well on my way to completing number 8 and 9 of 101
8 - stop the 2 litre a day diet pepsi addiction
9 - replace it with 2 litres of water a day
Now on day 3 of no diet pepsi, have been having water and no added sugar juice and have an almighty headache which I believe is caffiene withdrawal, that was really hard, again amazing how addictive caffiene is, it a good job I never got into drugs with my addictive personality :rotfl:
Have also been working on number 23 Try a new recipe every week (0/143) and this week it was beef koftas (SW style) which where delicious havent decided on what next weeks will be yet but there is a yummy sounding pan fried cod and indian potato recipe so I may give that a go, in hand with that is number 24 Make all my favourite recipes into a folder so I dont forget them.
Well I think that is all for me from now, turned into a bit of an essay in the end. Hope everyone is ok, be back soon I am off to do some studying! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Thanks Lucielle - I am hoping to have it all in a lovely binder with piccies too! I am only just learning how to cook really as never really done anything from scratch before I started SW so it means almost every recipe is a new one for me!
I am going to start with using ingredients I am comfortable with (which at the minute is basically chicken and mince and then progress onto more difficult things - I may even attempt a proper roast one day (I sound pathetic dont I?!) :rotfl:
DD has requested that this weeks recipe be toad in the hole as she loves that, have found a recipe on the OS board to use but may have to buy some sort of suitable tin thing to make it in - any ideas anyone?
That wont be a SW recipe though so will probably still do the indian potato and cod one - 2 new recipes in one week  x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
