Sounds interesting. Might just have to find myself a bottle. I'm quite a cider fan.

    Conor,

    Feeling a tad prickly tonight?

Nope. Just got the Mondeo back from a service today. Advisory that the rear subframe bushes are starting to show signs of going. So when I'm back off my hols, they'll get done and it'll cost me £120 instead of £400 for a new subframe if I'd left it.

How can anyone offer lifetime guarantee on bushes?! I know the polyeurathene (sp?!) ones last longer, but surely lifetime is excessive?! Surely no money to be made there, especially at £30

generally lifetime warranty means the lifetime you own the car.
and realisticaly how long do most cars last these days,10-15 years? im sure 10 years (as the originals have done the first 5) is nothing to poly bushes.they are very hard and usually only break if damaged or not fitted properly.

Fair enough, kinda makes sense at lifetime of car ownership

I put Poly rear subframe bushes in my old Mk3 Mondeo. £65 for the set and another £40 to get fitted.

They're £30 a side. As they're subframe mounting bushes so there's no movement going on, they can claim they will last forever. If they were track control arm or anti-roll bar bushes, I'd be more sceptical as those parts are constantly moving as the car is.

The problem with my subframe bushes is more age related.

Complete subframes? I take it they still come with rubber bushes though?
