  • I'm fairly sure both Maz and IA do NOT have oily skin any more-having met both of you I can spot a skin type in seconds-a very common issue is people still treat their skin the same as they did when they were teenagers and hence use the wrong products-thereby causing more skin issues! (using products for oily skin when you dont actually HAVe oily skin will make it more oily and prone to break out and will over-dry it, making it flaky)

Ok, quick skin care questions-answer these to me truthfully and I will most likely be able to ascertain what skin type you have, and help you to treat it properly (and you dont need to spend loads of money! Aldis range is very inexpensive and gets brilliant write ups!)

    1. what is your skin like in the morning when you wake up?
    2. how are you currently taking care of it?
    3. do you get a 'shine' on your face? If so, what time of the day and where?
    4. do you get spots? if so, where?
    5. tell me about your lifestyle ie, diet, fitness, etc
Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale
  • This may sound a silly question-where do you put the eyeliner?
Many people put it in the actually 'inside' of the eye instead of on the lash line-using foundation around the eye can help and then smudge it with a cotton bud and use a similar colour eyeshadow over top to blend it so it's not a harsh line and it will help 'set' it. Also, DO NO USE your 'day cream' around your eyes...(you can just use a bit of powder, loose or pressed around your eyes first)

  • 1. what is your skin like in the morning when you wake up?
    Feels oily and greasy.

    2. how are you currently taking care of it?
Wash morning and night with Bodyshop teatree foaming facewash

    3. do you get a 'shine' on your face? If so, what time of the day and where?
Forehead.. nose... most of the time.

    4. do you get spots? if so, where?
neck/shoulders/back, chin, cheeks. Blackheads and open pores all over.

    5. tell me about your lifestyle ie, diet, fitness, etc
Healthyish dinners, mostly crap during the day.. lol. I do go running maybe twice a week on average. During term times walk an mile a day to get Ash to/from nursery. Don't smoke, occasionally drink... don't go to bed later than 11.30 except on the weekends.

    sorry ma'am!

    1. what is your skin like in the morning when you wake up? - flushed, neither dry nor oily
    2. how are you currently taking care of it? - tea tree wipes on Tzone area, mattifying tea tree moisturiser on all areas.
    3. do you get a 'shine' on your face? If so, what time of the day and where? - nose only but all the time
    4. do you get spots? if so, where? - around chin/mouth, eyebrow area
    5. tell me about your lifestyle ie, diet, fitness, etc - diet, what diet... nah, fairly good, 500mls of water a day in bottle at desk, plus loads of other liquids, proper exertion type excercise 2 times a week (honest), dog wak every evening..., non smoker, seldom drink (3-4 units a month),non air conditioned office

    is this okay.....?

  • I like the mineral makeups too myslef-having tried a few. Some will make your face a bit shiny I find (Lily Lilo) and the brushes make a huge difference as well-I love the color of the L'oreal one but the the brush it comes with is way too hard!
I am going to try the one that is advertised now for sale in Debenhams (I think it may even be the QVC one tbh) but my all time FAV foundation is the Virgin Vie one-One Step Face Base. For a liquid, I love estee LAuders Double Waer or Revlon Colour stay-both stay put all day long!

Mascara-Im really getting into Rimmel at the minute, but L'oreal and Max Factor are both good as well

Lipgloss/lipliner-any old one will do, im not fussed as long its a colour I like!
(althouhg, I tried a Rimmel one the other day that lasted ALL day! was v impressed!)

Blusher-I'm really liking boirjois right now, manily because of the colour density and the actually clours, however, the lids break off grrrrr!

  • I hardly ever wear make up...... i hardly have any either.

I'm not very good at it y'see....

I do like a nice lip gloss, but cheap or free is about my budget!

Lol @ straighteners and eyeliner girls...! We were just as strange and alien to adults in the 80's Keren, only we were swept aside flicks with tons of insette hairspray and blue eyeliner/mascara!!

    I remember those days well!!
I loved my flick.... and blue eyeliner.

Thanks Bun. After moisturising with oil of olay I allow time for the olay to sink in and then put foundation on. Then I use a neutral powder eyeshadow all over the lid area & draw line close to the lashes. Haven't tried powdering over the line, maybe this is where I am going wrong.

Okay Bunny - you asked for it. I had problem free/spot free normal skin until I turned 30 and hadn't used anything specific on it - soap or whatever was in the bathroom pretty much:o Since hitting 30 skin's gone much drier and tighter feeling and i just can't seem to get the balance right so HELP!!!!

    1. what is your skin like in the morning when you wake up?
A little tight but generally okay
    2. how are you currently taking care of it?

Intermittently use cleanser/moisturiser for dry skin and l’oreal microdermabrasion kit about once a week. otherwise just wash in shower with whatever is to hand
    3. do you get a 'shine' on your face? If so, what time of the day and where?

Not every day but generally in the chin area
    4. do you get spots? if so, where?

Chin and temples mostly (esp now Bean is on board!)
    5. tell me about your lifestyle ie, diet, fitness, etc

Fairly healthy diet. Occasional sweets. Pre-Bean gym 3-5 times a week and running every second day or more. Currently walk extra stop on commute (20mins) and occasionally swim. Never smoked and not really a drinker even pre Bean!
