    you REALLY need some ram

Go here to find what you need ~

  • Your 192MB RAM will actually be 256MB, but 64MB of that will be shared video memory (which is why it's showing as 192).

But yes, a RAM upgrade would be recommended for anyone running XP with 256MB RAM.

Which type of RAM is indicated by the Crucial tool?

Do you mean PC2100 and all the DDR DDR2 stuff?
    Or something else?

I've had an idea. You know that envelope that you got with the PC that was full of tecky manuals that you glanced at before sticking in a bottom draw, dig it out and find the motherboard one. If you post the details of the motherboard you've got we'll be able to check the manual and tell you what you need :)

Ive upgraded quite a lot of computers now and basically the Crucial tool will find any given Ram for a desktop or laptop computer (Dependant on the information given)

They also have a great 'after sales' care and answer any questions you may have.
