this tool will tell you what type of Ram you need

    http://www.crucial.com/uk/

either Scan you PC or choose the model of DELL from the drop down menus

then you can write down exactly what type and look round for a good deal

Not sure as to what you are referring. You need to be exact in your descriptions.

If you mean the entries in italics, those are entries from your screenshot in #8.

Not true, AVG version 7.5 is supported until the end of this month. see here

I stand corrected (Although I still dont think that the SPYWARE ones will be in it)

They must have moved the original date as it was supposed to be shut off a few months ago and so assumed it was

  • Hi Gill,

There is one more undesirable processes in that second picture. This is:

    MSA64CHK.dll

There is also another one which *may* be spyware, this is the one called YourMP3.exe. I would suggest that if you are unfamiliar with a program called "YourMP3" and you don't use a program of that name, that you quarantine this entry too.

Just skimmed through and you've only 256mb of RAM.
XP gets by on half a Gb ok, so I'd say thats one of your main problems. As already suggested Crucial do a RAM finder tool and Belarc.com do a download that'll sniff around and tell you whats what and if the drivers are upto date.
Replacing the RAM is easy and 7dayshop.com have a good range thats vat free.

I completely agree with that. You really need a 'minimum' of 512 but id recommend 1 gig

Hi Guys, sorry to butt in but just wondered if you could help.

My pc is slow too! I have checked its spec like you told gill to do and it says

    windows xp home
    amd sempron(tm) processor
    3000+
    1.80GHz 192 MB of RAM

    Is this why its slow?
How do I get more RAM??

    Thanks in advance folks xx
