    Try the following steps:

    https://www.dell.co.uk
Enter d1121h into top right box, and click Search.
Click the second 'The Dell Store' in the Search Results.
Click Configure and Buy for (D1121h) Dimension 2400c 2.6 GHz
Click 1 Year Collect and Return for Support Services.
    Click Add to Basket

The price is now £179 excl VAT, £210.33 incl VAT.
You can then probably apply the discount voucher when you checkout.

The spec for the (D1121h) Dimension 2400c 2.6GHz should then be as below:

Intel Celeron Processor (2.6GHz, 128MB cache, 400MHz FSB)
    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    256MB DDR RAM
    Intel 845GV+ chipset

  • My daughter didn't have any problems watching DVD's or playing SIMS Deluxe Edition (whatever that is) this weekend. She was well chuffed with it. That was after I'd installed a DVD drive, which itself was easily done.

Does anyone know whether the DVD player is restricted to a region, presumably region 2?

Is there a way to play say region 3 DVDs, which are often cheaper than region 2?

Cant find a place to put in the 5% discount code when buying the system minus monitor as described a couple of posts above. Any help appreciated.
  • I'm looking for a deal with a 17" TFT - are there any about at the moment? (would like the P4 deal, but £94 seems a lot extra for the 17" TFT!)

I thought the particular deal being discussed here does not include a DVD drive. In that case, you would need to add your own drive and software, which would determine what region DVDs can be played.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Thanks for your explanation.

I had been looking at the previous £106 Dell offer, which included a DVD and CD writer combo, with software called DVD 5.1 Power Software, and assumed that the people who referred above to the 2400 being fine for playing DVDs would have a similar DVD player and software.

I was wondering whether Dell's DVD 5.1 Power Software or whatever else is used enforces the DVD regions or handles all regions.
