Sorry if I'm being thick but, do you need to have a broadband modem to be able to get online with this pc? :-/

No, but it does not have a built-in modem. You can either buy a modem card for a few pounds or buy an external modem. The machine will work perfectly well with either a dial-up modem or adsl.

As an alternative, you can try code d1121h. This gives the same PC but minus the monitor, at £199 incl vat and del. Not as good value probably, but some people have a monitor lying around doing nothing.

This PC comes without speakers but Aldi are selling a set of speakers from 25th Nov for £5-99.
They are also selling a wireless keyboard and mouse for £14-99.
If you deduct the mouse and keyboard from the Dell offer it should take it well below the £200 mark.

Seems site won`t allow deducting mouse and key,speakers still a good buy though.

Can anybody tell me what graphics card you get with this machine? I couldn't find it stated anywhere.
And could I add my cd/rw and dvd player, and/or hard drive from my old pc to this machine easily?

Cd/DVD writers are very easy to install.
Anyone wanting new ones,don't upgrade via Dell,buy them from ebuyer and save £££££££££'s.

I second Bennnneb's questions? how easy is it to transfer the contents of my exisiting hard drive to the Dell hard drive?

can anyone provide a guide for 'dummies' or point me in the direction of a site that might help me.

Same goes for the cd-burner and my modem.
