A real work at home job part 2

  • Just started to complete the online application then saw they are asking for three referees! Anyone know if they take these up? Unfortunately I left my last job on bad terms with my boss who made it clear that she would not be giving me a reference for future jobs.....not that I did anything wrong.....except politely speak out about something I felt was wrong concerning the pupil I was working with at the time. I suppose I could use the school I was at before that one but that was 10yrs ago now and not sure they would accept that.

I have worked for about 21 companies in the past and I understand that it costs alot of time and money for companies to chase up references and causes so much hassle they say they do but actually don't. People have start dates and start training after 2 or 4 weeks they find out they can't get a proper reference from a teacher who didn't know or forgot what a student looked like never mind new in teams of knowledge and behaviour. I think roles in the Police or security or military may chase for references but office jobs/home jobs like this its highly unlikely. I have only been chased by 1 company for references.

Try and give a reference of someone else.

Anyone got a customer services number for teletech or HR department number?

I just received this message from teletech@home

    TeleTech@Home Customer Service Agent

You will be phoning a conference bridge for this interview using Meeting Place as well as accessing a visual/interactive presentation via Meeting Place. You must access both the dial in and visual so you will need to be at your home computer for your interview. You may not enter the interview more then 10 minutes before the start of the Interview time. . The interview will last for approximately 90 minutes. Make sure you select an interview time that fits with your schedule you must complete the entire interview. ** You may print the confirmation page once you schedule**

I guess this is my interview! thought I failed the tests! So I guess there still recruiting?

Anyone tell me what the interview entails please its 90 mins so I guess its heavy questions and requires heavy answers!

I am in the middle of applyying for this and am having problems accessing the matchpoint assessment. Sorry Oliver I have sent you a pm regarding this as the other thread was closed - I have only just found this one!!

When I click the link for the assessment it is saying my pop up blocker needs adjusting - I have turned off the pop up blocker and it still won't let me accesss it. Has anyone had this problem or do you know what I can do please?

    Thanks:eek:

Well I just completed the Matchpoint assessments but on the live calls bit I couldn't access the customer's records on the first 3 calls despite typing in the name and account number so I had to guess the answers which means I will probably fail. I tried to contact them via live help button that they said but it just came up with a message saying they weren't hiring at the moment but when I looked yesterday on the website they were.

Has anyone else had problems and can any one on here who works for them point me in the right direction regarding this problem please?

Are you still working for them Oliver27?

    Yep still there.

I had a look, but at £6 p/hr I really don't think I'll bother. Qualified tech. support people get more than that.

True, but then you dont need to be "Qualified", other than have a basic
interest and understanding in IT as full training is given.

This sounds like the initial pre-screen interview it will probably be a group call and will mainly be a question and answer style where all questions will be answered, and you will learn more about the role, the shifts, benefits etc, and there will be some group exercises

They will be looking from you that you have a professional style to your telephone manor and to your conduct and that you have a suitable work from home environment, so no babies.people.dogs in the background
yep it does happen but those people dont tend to get to the next step
    :rotfl:

Also if you look back to about page 20 of this thread you will see last years applicants talking about the stage your at now.

Does anyone know if Teletech used to have a call centre based in
Bath Street, Glasgow I used to work there back in 2001.

If you used to work there surely you know the answer :D

I believe your right Azim not sure if thats still going or not
the main call centre nowadays is in Belfast and there are a few
others around the UK on different projects.

The @home project has been going about 2.5years now and
we have been working for the same client since the start.
