Now I'm probs being a little daft here, but what on earth is DimDim?
Also, are you aware it is ONLY evening work which is available...and the minimum number of hours you can work per week, is 20?
DimDim is tool used in phone confrence meetings and basically the person leading the meeting shows a presentation using slides that everyone logged in can see. It also has a chat box which you can use to talk to everyone else though this isnt really necessary till certain parts in the interview.0 -

Modavida DimDim is the same as the Cisco meeting place we used to train just a free version they use for the initial group interview. remember now? :T
JLDL90 its at least 5 evenings a week i think, and they expect at least 20 hours a week min. Well everyone in my team do at least that.
Good luck with the interview! :j0 -

A job with this company has come up in my area for a call referral agent, says no selling involved. Im thinking of applying for it, ive flicked through the thread and got a general idea of hours, what the company is like to work for etc. But id appreciate it if someone could just answer me a few questions.
Firstly, ive got no experience of telephone work what so ever. Once im prepared for it and settled I cant see any reason why id have trouble with picking it up. From your experience how difficult do you think id find it ?
Ive got a computer, ive got broadband. Broadband is ran by cable from the main phone point into another room, to a wireless box, then connected to my computer via Ethernet. Would this set up be ok ?
What other things would I need to buy ?
Do I need to pay my own national insurance and tax ?
I presume ill start off on minimum wage, is the wage likely to go up at any point ?
What hours do they offer in general ?
These tests they send you, what do these entail ?
Does anyone else do this specific job, what is it like ?
Thanks a lot.0 -

Firstly in real terms the job is first level technical support for broadband
customers, You don't need to be a IT genius as training and support are there throughout, but some basic IT skills and a interest in technology is beneficial.

Thats sounds fine the main point is to have your pc connected directly
via Ethernet cable.
What other things would I need to buy ?
Nothing.
Do I need to pay my own national insurance and tax ?
No its PAYE.
I presume ill start off on minimum wage, is the wage likely to go up at any point ?
£6 per hour , plus a bonus scheme that could pay upto 15%
What hours do they offer in general ?
Hours inside 4pm - 11pm and 3pm - 11pm at weekends
These tests they send you, what do these entail ?
One is just to test if your PC is upto the job the other
is to test your basic computer skills and listening and call
handling skills.
Does anyone else do this specific job, what is it like ? work
Yep there is a few of us working there, I find it good.
Thanks a lot.
Hope that helps abit.0 -
I realise jobs are fairly far and inbetween at the moment but I was wondering if anyones heard anything about starting people up on training? I've been placed on the 'future candidate list since 02/03/09 and still haven't heard anything.0

This project has now closed. All staff have been notified that the 8th of June is the last day. The employer may find other contracts and I they may well contact you if that happens. Hope this helps.0
