I asked both when their policy had changed, and they said it has always been this way confused-smiley-013.gif.

Did you ask her how long she has left on her probation? ;)

Went into Asda today an stated that I had some money off coupons and did I have to buy the product. The customer service lady phoned the manager who said happy to accept coupons (even internet) but only 3 per shop.So used my highest 3 coupons and accepted no problem!!

Very witty as usual, stebiz! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

techspec, I have also once been told by Dundee that they 'only accept coupons if you buy the product'. So I said, 'no, not Tesco-issued coupons, I am talking about manufacturers' coupons'.

Dippy CS on the phone said 'what...I don't understand what sort of coupons you mean'. :rotfl:

So after trying & failing to explain about 'other coupons' I asked for a Supervisor and finally got to speak to someone with a brain! After a discussion they then spoke to the store I was having trouble with, and eventually they rolled over and allowed the coupon policy we know and love. That was over a year ago though, and since then that store has said no internet ones.

The point that many don't realise (including stores) is that Dundee are NOT HEAD OFFICE (sorry to shout :o ).

Cheshunt are HO and they make the policies - but they don't take phone calls from plebs like us customers, or even a general query from a store CS desk. That's where Dundee come in, they are just a call centre and most of them have no clue about the coupon policy as Cheshunt never sent Dundee a copy when it went out to the stores (true).

Tesco are not exactly a shining example of good internal communications!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My wife went into Tesco this morning, Wath, near Rotherham, spent £62 and got £11 off with internet printed coupons (Airwick, Mitcham ect).

  • Good shop this morning, no bargains, but £18.62 shop came down to £6.12!!!! :j :D Only used 1 of each coupon as SA has in past refused if I gave 2 or more of one type. SA was so impressed with my discount she asked for details of where she could find MOC's!!!!!! Of course I directed her to this site!!!! She even wrote all the details down & thanked ME for all her potential future savings!!!! :)

Is that wise directing a member of tesco staff to this site???
  • Can't say I thought about that OP, but like the rest of us the SA has to save where she can. She is an older lady who's OH is ill, & she works part time & cares for him. I thought I was doing her a favour. I can't imagine for one minute she would go blabbing to the "management"

BTW my Tesco is great for coupons.

I phoned a Tesco i never use today, and asked if i could use internet coupons. "Yes, course you can and you dont have to buy the items", i was told.

When i got there, they had never even seen one and all gathered round to look at this strange phenominon.

After the supervsior had run around like an headless chicken, she asked if i knew which internet coupons were allowed. "Yes", I said - "these ones", so she took them.

Like i am going to say "yes - you shouldn't take these ones".:rotfl:

I had another successful visit to my local coupon friendly Tesco today. Used £15 of coupons including the Air Wick one, it didn't scan initially but it did when the SA used the hand scanner. My local Tesco is great they take anything without any problems.
