  • here it is, my emailed reply from asda regarding internet printed MOC's:

    Thanks for getting in touch.
Our current policy regarding Coupons/Vouchers is as follows:
I'm afraid that we do not accept coupons printed off he internet, but we do accept the following:

    Asylum Seeker Vouchers
We do accept asylum seeker vouchers and they can be used to purchase anything in store.
    Manufactures Coupons
We accept money off coupons. You don't even have to buy the product shown on the coupon. As long as we stock it you can use your coupon against anything in the store.
Please note this doesn't apply to cigarettes and lottery
    Branded Vouchers
If you have a voucher for a set amount from a branded company you can spend it on any product in our stores just as long as we stock that brand.
For example you may have a £10 Kellogg's voucher. We stock Kellogg's products so you can buy anything you want with your Kellogg's voucher even if the product you want isn't made by Kellogg's. We'd like you to spend the full amount of the voucher but it's up to you, if you would like change from your voucher then that's no problem at all.
    ASDA's Own Coupons
ASDA coupons (ones that show our name, often are found in the ASDA Magazine) can only be redeemed if you have actually bought the product shown on the coupon.
    Number of Coupons per Transaction
There's no limit on the amount of coupons you can use per transaction unless it is stated on the coupon.
    Milk Tokens
Milk token have now been replaced by the healthy start vouchers.
    Healthy Start Vouchers
Children in low income families, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers may receive vouchers under the healthy start government initiative. These vouchers can be redeemed on the following:
    * Milk (plain cows milk either whole, semi, semi skimmed milk), pasteurised, sterilised and long life.
    * Infant formula milk that is based on cows milk and states on the packaging that can be used from birth
    * Fresh fruit and vegetables (excludes pre cooked, frozen, dried or canned fruit and vegetables)
    Luncheon Vouchers
We accept luncheon vouchers as payment, or part payment. We don't give change on luncheon vouchers.
We don't accept luncheon vouchers as payment for alcohol products alone.

thanks couponmad, was aware that sainsburys (didnt realise about Boots) only accept coupons against actual product, but am a bit sad and tend only to buy the product the coupons for, so big ups for the heads-up :)

    Hi
I know this is the chat thread, but just thought would let everyone know, if you get a Tesco direct catalogue in store (free), and get it scanned through the checkout it prints a £5.00 voucher off next purchase when you spend £20 or over.
You can order online or instore, all the instructions are on the coupon.

Bullshot - totally agree where you come from re coupons, I look up and down the tills usually for someone who has served me b4, I also find its the older ladies that are more arkward, then you get accused of it being a photo copy....like you I stand my ground, I have on one ocassion reported a supervisior for his attitude regarding the vouchers, he refused to accept £5.00 worth of vouchers, ansd the manager told me to bring them back to the store, give the manager his due he gave me a £5.00 giftcard to cover the costs of petrol etc.
About a week later - same incident - internet voucher - the cashier called the supervisior (happened to be him- he took one look across and shouted yes take the vouchers!.
    x

Not if you use the self scan tills you don't.

Will have to try a cashier next time.

  • I agree but some people are always going to be tempted to do this as it is like printing money
For myself I would not dare as I am sure that it will come back and bite you on the b** at some point and I like shopping in Tesco so do not want to do anything wrong
I must say though that I have been wondering since I joined the site how people got so many coupons as I print one or two - with the odd Pedigree exception - and reach the print limit yet I read on here about people having dozens or hundreds?? of coupons and wondered where they are getting them from
I have seen on coupons in the top right hand corner that there is a manufacturers bar code and at the bottom where the small writing is it shows the date the coupons were printed so they really are trackable - or so it seems
I read that Tesco are getting coupons back from the sorting house with refusal to re-imburse as they are copies and wondered what T can do about this as their tills - as I understand from members who works there- are very sophisticated and wonder if they can look back against receipts/loyalty cards/card payments etc. and find out who handed in the copies and what they can do at a later stage or if they may just look out for the known customers and stop them at the tills when they are about to pay with copies.
Who knows what action they will take - whatever it is, ask yourself is it worth the risk.
And no I do not work at T I just want to throw open my own thoghts on the matter and do not stand in judgement on anyone either

I print different coupons from the three pc's we have in our house so I get three shots at it technically. The codes are all different and I would certainly never copy them or print to image and then print as many as I'd like.

This is just my opinion, but if I did it would be no doubt tracked back to my store, who's store manager might then adopt the no internet coupon stance and I'd ruin it for myself as well as hundreds as others.

I'm thankful for the ones I am able to print, and lucky enough to have more than one pc at home.

Again, I'm just throwing my thoughts into the mix.

  • Hi, I am still fairly new to this site but have been reading the threads on this site for a while now. My friend and I have been using coupons for a number of months (her for longer than me)and she has encountered a problem whilst at our local Tesco's today and she felt that it should be noted on here for all other couponer's. Forewarned is forarmed. Our tesco's has been very good for coupons(we stuck to the rules and didn't take the micky) but now they won't take any coupons that don't display an NCH code or VALASSIS code.
The manager said this is the new policy. They refused all of my friends PDF coupons because they did not display these codes.

    Coupons refused:

Tesco's Works with water 30p(both of them)
    Ryvita 20p
    Tetley 40p
    Heinz 25p
    Mitchum £1.50
    Benecol 40p
Activia 40p(confused, as on closer inspection this does have NCH code)

    Coupons accepted:

    Mitchum £1.00
    Peartizer 50p
    Castello 25p
    Couponnet coupons

We don't yet know if this is their new policy(nationwide) or because they are extending our store making it more like a Tesco's Direct store(my friend is going to email and find out).

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a way round it(without doing anything illegal? Thanks in advance.

I used all of the ones you say they rejected in Tescos today, one lot and lunchtime, and then one lot after work because I'd forgotten some stuff.

perhaps its one of those "at managers discretion" as they're internet coupons.

Our current policy regarding Coupons/Vouchers is as follows:
I'm afraid that we do not accept coupons printed off he internet :)

I emailed Asda on Friday as I had used a different store from my local one last week and the policy seemed to be different.

The email response I received earlier is more or less word for word the same but one important difference is my email states that internet coupons are accepted, from my email:

    Internet Coupons
We accept Internet Coupons under the same stringent conditions as old
    style manufacturers' coupons:
1 That they are in date
    2. They are not specific to different retailers (non Asda)
    3. We stock the product

One temporary rule until we decide a more comprehensive policy is-
Only 1 internet coupon per product item in any single transaction -
Unless the customer actually buys the product and in multiples that
reflect the number of coupons tendered.

We really should only be using one coupon per item if not buying the product anyway just to ensure that the current policies continue.

My email also says there is no limit on the number of coupons you can use per transaction unless the coupon has a limit stated on it.

There is currently about £5 in PDF coupons that can be printed unlimited ie Mitchum, Tetley, Castello etc add to this Couponnets printed from homepc, homelaptop, work, friends, neighbours, and original coupons from baby clubs(pamers, Huggies etc), sending emails to manufacturer requesting coupons and this equals an almost unlimited supply. I know some couponers when they are running low will do 5-10 small shops a week using the £5 of PDF coupons.

Maybe, but our local Tesco's has always been very understanding with the copons, allowing us one of each coupon per transaction(if we had 15 different coupons then they would gladley take all of them, they know us quite well)we have never encountered any problems before, so to say it was a bit of a shock is an understatement!!
Hopefully when we get a reply to my friends email we will know where we stand.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Has anyone used the Mitchum half price coupons on self scan?

We do actually use these deodorants so I can get one for 35p at the minute because of the special offer and by using the coupon.

I have had them accepted on the till but haven't used self service before.

I only want to nip in for a couple of cans of deodorant and some bread!

Would the self scan accept 2 of these coupons if I buy two of the products?
