Hi ...
I've just joined the chat forum and as a first post I just wanted to recommend the Technika 103 DVD player available in Tescos and highlighted by the MSE site. It is absolutley superb and the hacking code on the main page works fine. If you want a great product don't be put off by the brand name .... it is a brilliant product !

Not sure if this has been posted already but I like the look of this one:

Can anyone recommend it? I must have a player with DIVX compatibility!0 -

I'm currently relying on the NHS a the mo, and there's not another organisation in the world i'd trust with my life. So what, if you infer that a few extra bucks VAT goes towards funding the service.
Pretty ignorant comment from you imho.

Agree with you on not wanting to swap the NHS.
BUT......
The NHS is a bottomless pit as far as money is concerned as are most of our public services - government, local councils, etc.etc.
Problem is IMHO most of the people working in the NHS etc. forget that we pay for the service (and their wages) - I don't have a problem with taxs. BUT I have a big problem with the money that is wasted by the NHS etc.
It is my money (and everyones elses) that they are wasting - and it is their money as well!
Cut the waste in every 'public service' - NHS, Councils, Government etc. - and we will all pay a lot less tax.
....................................
Most of the extra money in todays budget for education will go to the private companies that are milking the system - not their fault - they are just allowed to get away with it.
The word/phrase 'backhanders' comes to mind.0 -

cheapest DVD player i've seen is the Durabrand 1005 from ASDA for £17.97. Its a portable player so handy for taking on holiday and plugging it in to the hotel TV, can't go wrong for that money.

You can't have a "free" health care system on the cheap. It costs an average of £300 a night to keep a patient in a hospital bed. However, the government can stop employing tons of "managers" and paying them 100K each to close hospital beds, shut down wards when there is already a chronic shortage of beds. Start employing more people at the front line... doctors and nurses and you'll get far better care when you need it.
Here's another idea to pay less tax. Stop having a welfare state where people without jobs can go on benefits at our expense for life. Where is the motivation to find a job when you can get things for free? Its disgusting!0 -

Got the Acoustic Solutions from Argos, seems pretty good. £19.99. Mine didn't play multi region straight out of the box but went on line, got the easy 5 second handset hack and now it plays everything I've tried - normal stuff plus jpeg, region 1 & 4 dvds recorded in NTSC format and DVD-RW. Quality is good for what you pay, seems better suited to the ordinary 21" 4:3 TV, rather than the more demanding widescreen 28". Highly recommended as a secondary player.0
