Got mine.. ! all 4 - xmas pressie's all sorted.

Ps - not much of a queue at my local store, about a dozen folks, most people buying one or two - I was going to limit myself if there was a lot of people - so don't feel guilty about grabbing 4.

Got 3 of the Lidl machines, one for myself as my current Medion DivX player is starting to spit out discs that are perfectly fine, and the front and rear right audio has started to play up, the two other machines a presents.

They had loads of the machines in store, some people were taking one, most 2 or 3.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • Aldi have a Dvd player now on offer (from 12/11/05) that includes a useful card reader for all those out there will digital cameras etc. also checked with shop assitant should be multi region hackable and plays recordable DVD's. Pretty good if you ask me , usually these sort of offers get sold out very quickly at Aldi so check it out now if the extra features are what you are looking for.

I mentioned on an earlier thread that I got a small DVD player "Red" brand from Sainsbury's a couple of week ago. No LCD display (on screen only) but special clearance just £17.99. DVD, DVD-RW, CD, CDRW, mp3 and JPEG picture. Very pleased with it as a spare more portable player. to compliment my Yamada 6700

No idea if it is multi region as I have no need of the feature at present.

  • Does anyone know if this machine is going to be available in the Northern Ireland or Republic stores as I would love to get one. Or does anyone on the forum have a spare they would like to sell?

The more expensive units use A grade chips, the chips are tested and graded in the factory.

The power supplies for expensive kit is better and the connectors are usually better quality as is the drive assembly.

Having said that the gap between expensive and low cost kit is closing and it not that big now.

To answer your question, I would recommend a cheap unit with a good garantee. For most Tv less that £600 you will not be able to notice any difference.

  • Hi

    I'm new here!

Found a good site to get the hacks for DVD players: http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/hackable.asp

Only problem I have is that I own a Sony machine, and there don't appear to be any hacks available,

unless of course anyone knows otherwise.....
