    Bins - we barely make one sack a week so did not think to ask the neighbour to put ours out - just done it - so 2 weeks but we have been away for one and it is full of maggots - yuck - they have been boiled!

    Well DD is going to Ju Juitsu shortly - so having washed the tea things I will do the kitchen properly when she's out of the way.
    That website's mighty scary Dusty - methinks our American cousins can be a bit intense sometimes! I think I like 'our' pottering about stuff - cos we don't need our shoes on.
    Having said that - my paperwork is filed in a proper one drawer filing cabinet (gloat) that I found BEING THROWN out - and it's in lovely condition and a modern one, not an old one, either. I just label the pockets - eg Divorce, Bank, Insurance, Tax, Tax Credits (that's a full one!) Car etc - so I know which pocket to find stuff in. I file bank statements and mortage statements in date order but everything else gets shoved in - after I have written renewal dates in my diary - for Car Ins a month before so that I can find a deal!:money: Prior to that find I had one, then a second, of the filing boxes you can buy in stationers - but they weren't big enough. And I do clear out and prune the files. I think the trick with this is to find a system you like - and stick with it.

    Afternoon everyone :) I have a wee confession today - I have done absolutely nothing all day, well apart from wash up, get the quiche out of the freezer, for my dinner tonight, make the bed and swish and swipe the bath and sink after my shower.

    I think I have been a bit blah today due to the horrible rainy weather here..ugh!! Anyway tomorrow I intend on doing a lot more, plus I want to bake a cake or biscuits now that DH bought me some fresh eggs from the farm yesterday.

    Natty68, you aren't the only one who hasn't done what they planned to do. Tomorrow I must get more done or I will have no chance of completing my list.
    We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

    I like the way divorce was your first one and that it is filed away. I agree with you about the paperwork tax credits churn out and why they feel the need to send DH and me a copy to the same address I don't know.

    I would definitely agree that lavender is great. Totally sorted ds1 when foolish dh left hot coffee in reach:mad:

    I've managed to clean the bathroom today after yesterday evenings late flourish, so a bit disappointing but I agree when you've a little child you do need to give them time.

    Pigpen I am so in awe of you having 8, and tell me, do they moan about not having a tv? I hear other people say they wouldn't have one but the kids would suffer (I think they mean moan!) and I always said I'd bring mine up without tv so a bit disappointed about having one now (although I do limit viewing). Right I'm getting back to the case study it's got to be done by the end of this week.:eek:

    i'm back from my hols finally. we had a wet but enjoyable time.

    we are also up financial creek with no paddle and sinking quickly. ILs did the food shop and the bill was split between us all, and they managed to blow the best part of £500 on food and booze.

    I'm trying to be proactive,
    Guess i will be trying to do things very cheaply. x

    Nice to have you back michelle - I have missed your huge long lists!!! :rotfl:

    Glad you had a nice break but what a bummer about the food bill - were you eating caviar and champers!!! I'm sure you will pull it all together - but its not easy - you have a lot on your plate!!

    Dont get too stressed out - its not worth it!!

    Hi skintscotslass, do you mean the Serenity Prayer?

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;
    Enjoying one moment at a time;
    Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
    Taking, as He did, this sinful world
    as it is, not as I would have it;
    Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will;
    That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

    Amen.

    Oh trhanks for that galadriel - I have been looking for that for months!! Never thought to ask on here! I couldnt remember what it was called.

    I am also looking for the one that is often used when someone dies ... about not being dead but being in the next room waiting ... Do you know that one??
