Don't miss the Thermae coffee shop. Open all hours for potent espresso and the company of friendly locals.

    Stop trolling....

Maybe you if you didn't spend so much time hanging out with bar girls..... desperate people will try anything to get what they want out of life.

They'll spend their time and money on Tarot and feeding dolls in the hope of somehow getting that edge.

    Take your nonsense elsewhere.

They want to know of fun things to do in Thailand.

Jees, what did I say to offend you, Donnie? :eek:I'm deadly serious about how dangerous Thai women are. The OP's about to go to Thailand, I'm warning him of a very real danger. Are you saying you've never heard about this? Don't take my word for it, search Google. Here's just one story I found: http://www.knapsacktreks.com/los/love.htm

And for your information I don't drink nor do I go out with bar girls, but nice try. You don't own MSE, Donnie, but congrats on your attempt to talk down to people and throwing out accusations of trolling.

Back on topic, I've been to Thailand four times in the past few years. On business and on holidays (SE Asia route). This black magic thing is a very real issue in Thailand. I've never been in that situation, thank god, but I have seen others, first hand, who have been badly affect by this type of hypnosis.

Don't get me wrong, Thailand's a beautiful country with plenty to see and do. Just be careful, that's all I'm saying. ;)

If you look lost (even if you are not) you may get a "respectable" looking Thai come up to you in the street. They generally ask you if you are lost and can they help. Thai people are very reserved normally and don't approach strangers - we were warned several times about this when we were there.

If someone does come up to you they may well try and direct you to a Tuk Tuk that ends up taking you to the outskirts of the city to a "wholesale unit" and try and sell you something or a worst case scenario that we were given is that they could rob and harm you! So take care.

Having said that, we had a wonderful two days in Bangkok. We did the reclining Buddha at What Po, The Floating Market and on the way to the floating market stopped of at a couple of other very interesting tourist traps - didn't buy anything but they were interesting and it was nice to see more of the countryside. Also be aware that there are taxi touts at the airport who will offer you a taxi to your hotel for 500baht and then get you to sign up for a "free" trip to the temples etc with several stops along the way at various shops so that you can buy stuff. Sometimes, its worth it, most times its not.

Whatever you do, have a wonderful time, it was a culture shock to us, the way they drive, the air pollution etc but its a fascinating place.

Another tip. If you're male, don't look a Thai woman in the eye. Worst mistake you could make*. This is not a joke.

*they're renowned for powerful hypnosis and black magic.

I will let my DH know cos I am a laydeeee;)

Good tip thanks, my usual response would be to have a chat I will ensure we look like we know where we are going at all times....

We have transfers included in the package we put together but it's good to know how much is the right rate for a taxi, you can get royally ripped off in airports I know. We have also booked a couple of private trips to temples etc and the transfer to the second resort is by private car, we are told the scenery is stunning;)

They can't shock me I have been to Beijing LOL I am so looking forward to it I can't wait thanks Chris and all for your replies
