Oh Cady you are having a tough time.
You can get some tax credits if you don't have children. Also would you qualify for council tax benefit? it might be worth consulting citizens advice or a disability rights organization to check what your rights at work and benefit entitlement might be.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
Or could you do without the car? They're sooooo expensive. Also you said you have a spare room, could you rent it to a lodger, even a Mon pm - Fri am would help.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

hi thanks for the replys Verbatim & black taxi
were both under 25 so dont qualify for working tax or anything like that, the spare room is sooo tiny its like a box room so dont think it would rent out really, the sky is due out of contract in nov so im gonna ring them in oct to "put my 30 days notice in" and see what they offer we dont go out and its the only thing we spend on really so would hate to get rid of it but might have to. I dunno who i can talk to about work tho, ive looked and cant find a number for CAB so i think id have to go down and see them but would like to talk to someone on the phone too and see what my options are i dont think we would get any financial help at all and im worried im gonna loose my job and house because of all this what we worked so hard to get here.
Sorry to rant but i keep thinking once ive hit rock bottom the only way is up and i start to pick myself up again and then realise im not at rock bottom at all and something else has happend to sink me further.

Hi Cady,
only just caught your thread & gosh you're having wave after wave of grim stuff at the momentso have a big dodgy :grouphug: for now until I can come up with something more useful.
I was going to say about tax credits too ( I'd have gone under a long time ago without them) but just heard on radio you have to be over 25. Seems very unfair to me when you're both working, & other peeps just sit & collect but dont give up sweetie, things will come good again, there will be a breakthrough. Cars are a pain, but I understand about having to use cc to pay for it...I recently had to do the same.
Anyway, chin up, that's a fab meal plan you've done, makes me feel hungry, I struggle deciding what to eat on the day so very impressed with yours.
Do you have anything to ebay or carboot ?
lula x0 -
Hi Lula,
Thanks for the reply im just so down at the min, the car was just the last straw i dont know what to do about so mny things its just too much at once we are trying to have a baby and after the miscarrage in aug i want one now more than ever but how can we afford it and how unfair would it be to bring a child into all this mess??? my wage is so low it practically min wage and my partner is on a better wage but not much i cant change my job but i have to im gonna sit and make a list of things i need to sort out and deal with it like that.
Just got charged but the bank for going £1.52 over my OD how annoying is that i could kick my self!!!
I dont have anything to ebay or boot sale - we only moved in in november so all our stuff was cleared then, Thanks about the meal plan we had chilli last night it was lush!!!!0 -
Hey sweetie,

Ah glad your mum's taking care of you Cady. Bu**er the car eh?
You sound very resourceful and I'm sure you'll find a way through. Is there a college or learn direct near you so you could get a new qualification to help with better paid jobs?
Good luck with the baby.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
