Would I sound really daft if I asked what scrap booking is??Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

I'm not the best person to answer this, because I've only just discovered it myself.
In a nutshell: Scrapbooking is about combining photos, stories etc... in a scrapbook album.
Here's something that explains it far better than I ever could!

Brilliant moving bauble - you're obviously adept at 'Technologicl scrapbooking too!' how did you get that?0 -
I've no idea what the "modern day" scrapbooking entails, but from some of the posts here it sounds as though some companies are cashing in big-time on it and encouraging people to spend lots of money!!!
My mum was one of the world's greatest scrapbookers ... you name it she had it in a scrapbook! ... but it cost her literally pennies to maintain!
But in true OS fashion, she would buy a normal plain foolscap sized scrapbook (50p on the market?) and cover it in an off-cut of wallpaper, then stick everything in it, from photos to postcards, labels from wine bottles to pressed flowers, programmes to press cuttings ... absolutely anything that was some sort of memoir from a family event or outing, or even just general day-to-day life!
There are boxes full of these scrapbooks somewhere, containing a lifetime of memories"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I managed to get some of the scrapbooking packs from poundland and although I am not confident about them being acid free they would be perfectly good to use in card making and excellent value at £1 for a large pack. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

These would be perfect for cardmaking.
Quick hint: Any product that is Acid-Free will say so in bold on the product!!
If it doesnt say so, it most definitely isn't.
Acid-Free products are very important for modern day scrapbooking.
Any product (pens/paper/glue etc) containing acid will ruin your photos
and the point of doing a scrapbook is to preserve your photos; memories; thoughts; traditions etc for many more generations!!do you believe in Fairies?

Just seen at the top of the packs "Acid and Lignin Free" so perfectly ok for scrapbooking! Very good value for scrapbooking and card making at £1 a pack as I have paid 60p (more fool me) for just one 12" x 12" sheet of pretty paper! These packs have 6 x 12" x 12" sheets in plus everything else!

I have to wonder about the validity of these claims about only using acid free products. Some of my mum's old scrapbooks must be over 50 years old by now, containing many photos amongst other things, yet have survived without any damage using bog standard old-fashioned scrapbooks
At what point would a photo actually become damaged if using normal books rather than the "acid-free" variety?"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
