    Morning peeps

I was having a bad day yesterday and was feeling grumpy:rolleyes:

I never give anything to Cancer Research because I know how they waste money, I worked in a Dept at the University that was funded by Cancer Research and the waste was phenomenal (like they would buy chairs and because they picked the wrong colour they ordered more and then dumped the perfectly good chairs:mad: ). Never in a million years will I give them a donation.

My spends today are as follows:

Tesco shopping: £29.09 - bought stuff from either value range, or whoopsie shelf or even in glass bottles (tomato sauce) as it is cheaper to buy it this way that in a squeezy bottle. You can have a list of what I bought if you like.

I need to buy petrol and will do that this week (I haven't put petrol in my car for 2 months now but it is starting to run out:eek: ) and tomorrow I am going to a meeting at the chamber of commerce £3.30 day saver bus ticket (I claim this as a business expense) and lunch as part of a mystery shop - min spend £5 to get £10 back (so that's dinner sorted for tomorrow).

One thing I am curious about - doesnt anyone sell gravy browning anymore? I can't get any anywhere and when I ask the shop assistants look at me as if I am mad.

I'm only putting down the "extras" I buy. I have already budgetted for all the DDs and also for petrol - its the extras that are my problem.

    So far.... £0 spend :j

It won't last - DH and I are out tonight (as DS is away) will post the spending tomorrow.:D

Hi Horace - is there a China town in Brum - like there's one in London? With Chinese supermarkets?

I thought I'd list everything as a reminder to myself to check constantly that DDs are actually current. Martin warns agains this!

Also, you've not had a SOA from me yet so this sort of serves as an interim one!

H - didn't know about Cancer Research's wastefulness. I just give to a Cancer charity because I have been stricken with it twice and wanted to give something back.

Gravy Browning - do you mean the liquid stuff? Presumably not Bisto powder?!

With Cancer Research the best way to give is to give directly to the research team that are looking at the particular cancer from which you have had. I am not saying that I don't give to some form of Cancer Research (I don't to them as a whole) but will give money to my old boss for his research into prostate cancer - you just need to know who to send your money to. Sorry to hear that you have been afflicted with it twice? Are you cured now or is it in remission with the likelihood of it returning? (sorry if I am being nosey).

I mean gravy browning in a bottle - not stock and certainly not bisto powder.

Mrs P - we have a huge area in Brum that is the Chinese Quarter (in the war years it was the Jewish Quarter and nos its the Chinese) and in Nechells (a god forsaken hole of a place) we have Wing Yip's a massive supermarket and restaurant. Good ol' Wing Yip is a brumme:D Its like East End Foods, their warehouse and spice factory is in West Brom and they supply about 80% of the spices used in the UK.

Don't ask me to go to the Chinese Quarter or East End foods because I won't set foot in these places.

:rotfl: Given that it was testicular cancer and I've had it twice, I'd guess it might not return!:rotfl:

I first got it in 1992 when I was 21 and they removed the testicle and that as that. No problems for 13 years.
Then in 2005 I got it in the other one and had to have that one removed too. Unfortunately, it had spread a little and I had a lump in my chest which necessitated a 12 week chemotherapy course in Summer 2005. I found out 10 days after I had paid the final balance on my holiday to Gran Canaria so I lost £250 when I cancelled. Insurance never helped as it was a pre-existing condition apparently.
I've now been clear for nearly 4 years.

In August 2006, I had my new deluxe testicles installed with which I (And OH) are most pleased!!!

So there you go! Now you know!

OH and I are going to visit a waterfall (Thornton Force) tonight for some quality time together after I pointed out last night (rather upset) that we were living separate lives that only crossed at bedtime.

Sorry to hear that your nicknacks were affected, somehow as you have sooper dooper deluxe ones now that I don't think it will come back. Pity about the holiday though.

You and OH do need to spend more time with each other otherwise what's the point? Well my chap has cleared off for a 3 week holiday with a chap that I have never met (he claims the chap is called Ian) and yet there are never any photos of these holidays, that's the second time he has disappeared for 3 weeks (nearly 4). I questionned it and got the answer that it takes a week to drive back from Italy - yeah, if you are riding a moped that does 30mph it does but not a car (I know I have been driven there myself so I know exactly how long it takes) Needless to say he is on his way out:j Some of his stuff is still here but that is easy dealt with - I will box it up and he can collect it or I will post it.

Anyway, I am a lot happier as I have a new man in my life (I say new - really he's old;) )

Hope you have fun tonight and that you manage to get some quality time together.
