Morning all,
I had a good day yesterday visiting all my folks up in Kendal. Need to do that every so often to avoid being written out of the inheritance!!! LOL
Only spent £4.12 yesterday on a sandwich, a pie and some crisps.
Today I am haveing a meeting at work with RBS which will last the whole day and then I am off to Walkden in Manchester to ring a peal.
I will be back home about 10pm and will log on and chat then.
Adios!
Have good days y'all!

Have a good day Strumpet - try not to fall asleep in the meeting.
Well I am here, I went to bed at about 11pm last night and slept through the alarm this morning:mad: I hate it when that happens.
Will be popping in from time to time as have work to do (what I mean is that MSE is a distraction and I will be here all day:eek: ).0 -

Well the lady from RBS has gone - our meeting has finished. It was a good meeting and we got a lot sorted so that's brilliant.
I am trying to have a NSD today but there will be a peal fee to pay this evening if we score our peal. I brought sandwiches to work and enough for this evening so I won';t need to spand any cash other than the peal fee. Hopefully, the diesel situation can be stretched to tomorrow. At least diesel prices seem to be coming down at the moment.

Anybody read any good books lately. I have almost run out of books to read. Just started to re-read "Noble House" by James Clavell. Last read it 16 years ago according to my reading diary. Just finished re-reading all the Harry Potter books. Wanted to re-read 1-6 before I read Deathly Hallows. Glad I did cos it meant I knew who everyone was and where they fitted into the story.
If you want a really good mind-bending book to read, try "The End of Mr Y" by Scarlett Thomas. The whole book clicks into place with the very last sentence and I never saw it coming at all.
Looking for reading inspiration. Prefer fiction, spy novels, crime novels, fantasy novels.....
Perhaps we could start a DFW book club and swap books amongst ourselves to avoid having to buy new ones.

Normally we wouldn't pay to ring the bells say for on practice nights or for Sunday Service. We get paid for ringing for weddings (and sometimes funerals!).
We pay a nominal rope fee to the tower for allowing us to use their bells for peal ringing because this is a purely hobby thing. The money helps the church to purchase new ropes (which can be £150 a time!) or to pay for maintenance work. In this way we help to keep the bells ringable for our future enjoyment.
