I've just been re-reading my old "fat thrillers" lately.
But I had a browse in the nearby Oxfam bookshop and got a !!!!!! Francis, a Joanna Trollope and 2 Robert Harris books. :o
Oddly their hardback fiction was cheaper than a lot of the paperback versions  I suppose they're better on a beach?

Great! It took a while to get going but I'm glad I persevered with it.

If you like crime novels try the following authors:

    Faye Kellerman
    Jonathan Kellerman
    John Connolly
    Michael Connolly
John Nicol (he of RAF fame)

    Great non-fiction:

Stephen Ambrose: Crazy Horse & Custer - he also wrote Band of Brothers

    Depends what you like really.

I bet you're regretting that Indian now?

What are you supposed to be paying for between now and 31st?
What have you got in your food cupboard?

Good selection there Horace! John Connolly? only with the lights on

Strumpet if you liked the supernatural side of Mr Y and fancy the scarier side, Mr Connolly's worth a read...

Just to clarify - my £400 is a self-styled limit imposed to try and get me to save big time. I do actually have more than £27.99 at my disposal - I was just trying to limit my spending in August to £400.

Having said this, there is enough in the freezer to keep me going until the end of the month.

    We'll see!

Off to ring my peal now.

    Ciao!
