I have a george foreman.....in the shed..lol. I didnt rate that good TBH and never tried a toasted sarnie in it. I use the traditional sarnie toaster that seal the crusts. I do lightly butter the outsides too to make them crisp up lovely and my fav filling is ham, pineapple & cheese-like a pizza...yummy. May ask OH to do one when eastenders start

i butter the bread , makes it go very crispy. until i read this thread i never even dreamt of cooking a toasted sandwich in the george, but it is absoluty gorgeous. my fav is cheese and onion. but i think i shall have to try the egg , that sounds fantastic0

Just make sure that the Georgie is on maximum hotness (if you have a silver adjustable one) or it has got hot for ages- otherwise you get a horrid stuck to the bottom plate mess- you could always very lightly toast the bread first which helps a lot...'nother quick idea- cheese, thin apple slices and crumbled peanuts is very nice in a toastie.
I also do wicked kebabs on the George- chicken bits, assorted veg, bacon rolls, sausage bits- you name it. Excellent for kids with winter birthdays who hate the fact they can't have a summery party...ENJOY!0 -

Excellent for toasted sandwiches. Uni boy has one purely for that!0

I have a Breville Sandwich toaster which I never use as I hate the way it "seals" your sandwiches!!!! Would love a panini press but as finances are a wee bit tight at the moment, I can't justify going out and buying one of those.
So, my question is, can I use my George Forman grill to make toasted sarnies? I would have thought as long as the bread is buttered on the outside then the principle should be the same?
Any advice gratefully appreciated0 -
Give it a whirl... why not?!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
