Morning all
There really is a bright blue sky outside today, hurrah! Must get some washing out before it changes its mind.
Husband has a job interview this morning. It's at the place he (and his whole department) were made redundant from a couple of years ago but before that he worked there for about 7 years. It's still not close enough for my liking as he'll still have to get 2 buses there and back, but it pays £1000 more than he is getting now, which at least pays for the bus fares! It is only a 6-month position (unless they extend it or make it permanent) so I'm feeling a bit iffy about it.
So he shall be home after his interview for the rest of the day. Molly is going to my mums today and for the night, so it will just me Husband, Megan and me. Must think of something to do. We do actually have a little money for a change which is unheard of the day before payday, not that I want to go out and spend it all but we could go somewhere and use a little of it.
A very kind friend of mine (who I met online originally but now we see each other a few times a year) managed to fish out an unlocked mobile for me yesterday, so is posting it to me today so I can put my Blyk sim in it and start using my free textsWe're going to use it as the house mobile, seeing as neither of us ever has any credit on our phones, if Husband goes somewhere he can take it with him and if I go somewhere I'll take it with me.
Off to go see if there's any freebies or comps or surveys I can do before getting the girls up.

I'll start off with some news - Husband got the job!
Today my Clubcard vouchers came in the post, £10 worth. I never use them for my online shop as I can always find a discount code for that anyway. I also discovered I had £7.50 in Nectar points. We headed to town and stocked up on washing up liquid, bin liners, loo cleaner, food and freezer bags etc. We also got a few other things....a giant cake which was reduced from £8 to £2.75 as goes out of date tomorrow, so we've cut it up and frozen it. Two packs of crumpets, 19p each split and frozen, 2 packs of cheese-topped sub rolls (Molly loves these) think they were 20p a pack. I also got a little car for Molly for 80p which started off at £3.50, and a funky toy for Megan for £1.49 which was £5.00. Oh and a childrens cutlery set for Molly which was £5.00 and was 99p - they have plastic handles but the fork, spoon and knife parts are metal, big-girl cutleryNeeded some milk to tide us over till the delivery in the morning which I got reduced to 45p at Tesco. Anyway we had 4-bag-for-life-fulls' of shopping, only paying 4p at Tesco and 24p at Sainsburys!
When we were walking back into town from Sainsburys I spotted a blackberry bush! With some actual big juicy blackberries on, only a few though, but I thought well I can put them in a bag, put them in the freezer, and keep adding to it as we get more.
Then we went to the family planning clinic to get free condoms, I haven't got free ones in years and have never been to this place before. The place I used to go to, you walked in, asked for some, gave your name and you got them. I had to see a nurse and register and wait ages at this place but they gave me 12 to 'be going on with'. Then when I told the nurse how close together my two babies are, she said she'd give me more - does she think it will help if we use two at once or something? lol
Across the road from the family planning place I found more blackberries and plenty more will be ripened soon, Husband will pass this bush on his way to the bus station regularly so he can keep an eye on it:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

for recipe books you could try green metropolis (www.greenmetropolis.co.uk) as the books on there are £3.75 each, with sometimes a little extra charged for postage.Lost 2 stone 12.5lbs since February 2011. :j0

Thats a great shop, Kym! Well done, great planning.
As far as recipes are concerned, frankly I wouldn't buy a cookery book now for love nor money. With what you can get at the library, and what you can find online, there's honestly no need to spend out on cookery books.
And congratulations to OH! Thats brilliant - as you say, a bit worrying about the short term nature of it, but presumably thats factored in for you?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I just love this book unfortunately lol and think it will be a great book to have for cooking with the girls and teaching them about cooking, about the ingredients we are using and stuff, when they are older. It is such a lovely book. I've found it on the site phantom mentioned in the post above, what an absolute bargain, it will be my treat for the month I think!
As for the job, he's basically going to start looking and applying for other permanent jobs more or less straight away after starting his new job. He was hoping that if he's earning a bit more now that he will be able to apply for jobs paying more. And he's going to ask about the likelihood of the position becoming permanent, it happens a lot at this company. He started off there as a temp 7 years before he was made redundant and ended up staying there lol.:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

Oops! Apologies to you and phantom then! If you like it that much, and it has those kind of legs, then it *is* worth buying, of course. As for the job, he's basically going to start looking and applying for other permanent jobs more or less straight away after starting his new job. I'm absolutely gobsmacked.
On another thread I was met with a thinly-veiled accusation of stocking up on bread mix cos it was cheap so other people wouldn't be able to buy it. I defended myself (I bought a months worth of bread mix plus 4 spare, as it was a MONTHLY shop) and replied to a couple of other posts. Then there was a message from the person who'd made the original comment about the bread mix saying 'This is not a chat thread please keep the number of posts you do in one day down.'! Oddly enough that message has now disappeared...:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
