I'm in two minds about which nappies to get for Molly. If I get her the 'baby essentials' ones I'll save £2 but I think the 'Super Fit' ones are a much better shape to not impede her walking or comfort when walking. Am I right or is the whole thing a marketing ploy aimed at us gullible, guilt-ridden mothers?
(PS I'm probably going to stick with the Super Fit anyway lol):heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

Hiya, I'm so thick, I subscribed but didn't ask for Notifications ...doh!
DH 'looks after' all the spending on insurance etc, so if we did Quidco, we'd have to sit down together and work out what was up for renewal etc; as he files all the paperwork. But we're definatley going to be signing up for it:)
I am with you on the Aldi thing, but we dont have a large Aldi near us, perhaps the bigger ones are better?!
Will catch up on your diary soon! xPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
Bluejeans Challenge: Spend less - Eat less! Need to lose [STRIKE]4 [/STRIKE] 2.5 stone () then maintain until my concert in Dec!!
Cady's jam jar challenge.. how much will be in the pot?!

I heard that a large supermarket once moved a large stand of beer next to the nappy isle as a marketing ploy, and sure enough with all the dads sent out for nappies on a Fri/Sat night, they sold loads more beer than normal.... urban myth??:rotfl:Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Yeah good point maybe we have a small Aldi, never seen another one to compare though hehe.
Ahh I see re: DH, I take care of...well...everything (which is slowly driving me crazy). I will be changing Husbands' life insurance over in a couple of weeks as there's a £60 cashback offer through one of the sites, not that I remember which one now! And paying £1 less a month for the same cover.:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

We went to an Aldi in Wales on holiday and it was huuuuuuge! And it did have loads of choice and good quality.
I think if you've got the time to go round all different shops for their bargains you can save loads, but as you say with lack of time and having the little'uns and not being able to drive, it's easier to stick with one shop and buy value!Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

It's such a soggy, dark and miserable day today I just want to climb back in to bed. But at least with Molly napping in her cot and Megan having a catnap in her bouncer (and looking too cute while she's at it) I get some [STRIKE]me-time[/STRIKE] quiet-time to do the shopping online.
I'm going to join in the September grocery challenge but not sure it will be an accurate representation this month as I've just been through the freezer and have 2 portions of bolognese, a packet of chicken breasts (4), some steak and ale pie filling and some soup oh AND some sausages, so that's all stuff I won't need to buy. I'll just have to bear it in mind at the end of the month when I'm thinking of my budget for the month after.
I'm setting our budget at £330 this month because that's what I think we're roughly spending at the moment and it will be interesting to see what we actually spend, with Big Grocery Shop plus top-ups.
Need to check tesco.com again as when I was on there last night trying to buy cheese-spread I couldn't see the Tesco Value spread, I hope they haven't stopped doing it. Husband takes cheese-spread sandwiches to work virtually everyday!:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

I dont find Tescos search brilliant to be honest, for e.g I can never find curry sauces on there!! It is really miserable today, sitting in work, cant wait to go home.. should be working really... ahh well:oPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
